I have had the same problem. In the end I dumped the Software Update Packages & Groups. Left it a while and then created them and it all kicked back into life.

I would check the graphic drivers on the machine. I had this happen when Windows 10 was first released. Using updated drivers (when they had been released) resolved the issue.

Speaking to the user wouldn’t be solving the root problem. They shouldn’t have been able to do this in the first place.

Could you add them to your library system? Many systems accomodate for resources that are not books.

Off top of my heads if there are no lights at all the issue could be: 1. Ports disabled 2. The Fibre LC connectors on one of the patch cables need switching around. I have had number 2 resolve this a number of times.

Hello, I am brainstorming technologies that are emerging within education. I have seen some great tools like OCR on iPads - A student takes a photo of text on a paper and it converts it to editable text. I can see video feedback for students being a thing one day. Do you guys have supported devices are students allowed to use anything? How do students submit work? Can staff monitor their screens? What do you do about printing and applications please? Do you do any other “neat tricks” that could enhance T&L please?

I have been using that company for many years (before I left the UK) and I cannot fault them. It’s one of only a few companies that I have t ditched over the years. I highly recommend them.

Speaking as a UK school governor myself (and have been or a number of years) email would be useful but not necessary. An online portal would be sufficient where documents can be loaded, open, group and private discussions can be held. The software could be SharePoint or something else. Teams might be useful as governors outside of the room can join in via video conference. There is a system called Governor Hub. Although I am not familiar with it.

Just sat in an airport waiting for my delayed flight and I have just noticed it is a leap year. Every leap year I have been working in IT some software has failed to function on the 29th of February. One year it was PARS and I think another year was something relating to GroupCall software. Wonder if it will happen again?

I would merge the 2 domains. I can’t see how this would involve any additional cost.
