Schools Broadband - Service Credit for Outage

This is for home use so not very appropriate. Thanks though.

Hello, I have a script that runs fine when run manually. However when setting it as a logon script it doesn't run. Can anyone thing of a reason why please? I have tried the group policy "Run logon script synchronously" and that doesn't work. I have tried hosting the script in various locations such as Netlogon It doesn't run for admin accounts either so it isn't a permission issue. There isn't a software restriction policy in place. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I am looking for a document scanner for home use. The ideal scanner in my mind will: 1. Scan the documents and deposit the files into a Google Drive folder. No need to actually use a computer to power it. 2. Not flat bed (they are too slow). One of those that feeds paper. 3. WIFI 4. Small footprint 5. Can scan both sides of the paper (ideal not but a deal breaker.) Does such a thing exist please?

I left school at 16. I volunteered at a CLC (when they were a thing) to get experience. A few months later I applied for a technicians job in a school and got it.

Hello, I am looking to create a storage server to dump old data. I used FreeNAS a long time ago and I am out of touch. I was wondering what else is out there? Is there something better maybe? Cheers

If you look at the note acceptor (whatever its called) itself you usually can. When the new pound coins came out I figured how to make the machine accept them without a software update. I pulled it out of the machine found the people who make it and read the instruction guide. You can do get around 20 different coins press a button and feed them in to teach it the new type.

Its how I used to do it. No quite that blunt but evidence the requirements, cost and benefits and I got the money.
-
Its just a cost of doing business. I'm actually surprised that some many schools are still accepting cash.

How do you know you have been caught? You should think yourselves lucky in the UK. A friend of mine here was caught doing 4kph over the limit (2.5mph) and was fined $500 (£250).

Whats your procedure for allowing guests on your network
FN-GM replied to maxrebo's topic in Wireless Networks
In 2020 I don’t think it’s an unreasonable request. I would look at setting up a Guest or BYOD network. -
I tried my best with SQL 2017 and just couldn’t get DPM to install. Tried SQL 2016 and it worked first time.

Hello, We use Office 365. We have a full blown Exchange server here that is delivering emails for a single legacy application. The said application doesn't support TLS so we can't use the Exchange Online SMTP relay. I was looking at Stunnel. This could be installed on premise, accept messages that are not secure and forward them on to the Office 365 relay via TLS. Does anyone else have any other possible solutions please? Thanks
-
That's perfect. Not sure why I didn't think this myself!!
-
For the SQL part its just a command again. Also if I want to use 2017 it is quite different.
-
Would it use up all the bandwidth? During the evening you won't have much on the inside of the network using it. Plus it will be limited by the connection speeds at home.

Hello, Does anyone have links to a decent DPM 2019 install guide please? The only one I can find this this but its just essentially a dump of commands. - https://charbelnemnom.com/2019/03/install-system-center-2019-data-protection-manager-on-windows-server-2019-and-sql-server-2017/ Thanks

Hello, I am looking for a basic application that can be used to test SMTP relay settings. I want to test out a new configuration before touching the live system. Can anyone recommend anything please? Thanks
