The only time I’ve seen it loop is when the user doesn’t have write permissions to the folder it uses to download/run the update patch from I can’t remember which one it was but if you temporarily give the user access to the whole folder does it update fine? Steve
-
Not sure if you spotted it but right at the end of the credits it goes back to the ring which glows red and shows what looks like the warship being built on the doggy planet Steve

Instead of your progID try ImageGlass.AssocFile.HEIC Steve

Morning All, Just noticed both our enablement packages are showing as expired in sccm/wsus, did anyone else notice this? Doesn’t seem to be anything that’s superseded them for them to have a reason to expire but obviously means all our upgrades aren’t deployed currently! Steve

Both of those disks with the errors are version code 000B which normally means non-supported (e.g. Not Dell branded/coded drives) which is likely why they're erroring in that sense If you wanted to test if that's the error, and you have OSMA 8.5+ you could turn off the flag in stsvc.ini in program files temporarily to test it if resolves the flags Steve

Or that most schools didn't reply in December as they were expecting Steve

Steve21 replied to coolhands's topic in MIS Systems
https://schoolsict.co.uk/what-we-do/broadband-and-internet?view=article&id=1431 is a good place to check for something that might work (Might need to modify it for your Word aspect etc) Steve -
It’ll often say things like that of the file path is over 256 in realllllllly deep folder structures etc Do you have an example path you could paste into word and use the char counter? Steve

You'd have the software installed on the server if it's creating them, they'd be called the provisioning and passwordsync parts of it (in normal program files etc) Steve

Will give the first one a try as I tried Incognito and it just access denied for me, as guessing it didn't think it's logged in Thanks, Steve

Well at least it's not just me then lol. Annoying that it isn't just a normal download when it's such a small download! Steve

Anyone been able to download this via VLSC recently? Been trying the last few weeks and keep getting an error with reaching the download/page once you try to download it Assumed it'd end up fixing itself but still seems broken Steve

First two things that would spring to mind would be, have they recently deleted a lot? As it'll keep them for 40 days in their equiv of recycle bin, so unless you force them out of there they'll hold data, secondly maybe someone was being silly and hid a lot of them? (if student wise etc) Steve

Help with script to backup the Solus3 database.
Steve21 replied to TwistedHelixis's topic in How do you do....it?
Have you checked the one that comes with SIMs? There's a default batch file that's normally setup already that does a 5 day backup cycle including automatic zipping etc of the files (it does the SIMs database too as well as FMS/Solus etc but could always make another copy if you wanted a seperate one) it should be called SIMSDailyBackup.bat on the server (or at least it's normally setup with the original installs etc) Steve -
Good Morning All, Working with a school who bought into Parago last year and after a year of problems trying to get it to work effectively they’re still getting no useful help from civica support Contacted a number of schools who used to use it and seems they’ve all dumped it Does anyone here still use it and wouldn’t mind answering some questions on it via email, or if you don’t use it anymore the reasons why too would be great to feedback Many thanks, Steve

Edit - wrong quote! That’s not ESS guidance anymore it’s changed again after the backlash Page 7 on here - https://ess-sims.co.uk/sites/default/files/2021-12/SIMS-Contract-Changes-2022-FAQs_0.pdf They confirmed it’s a new contract not renewal, had another call with someone on Friday who confirmed the same Steve

When are you planning to move your school(s) to Windows 11?
Steve21 replied to localzuk's topic in Windows 11
Do you mean 7010? As that's a very old model in terms of meeting Windows 11 requirements. The latest ones would be 7080/90s~ etc Steve -
I tried one of the Dells on SCCM and it worked fine, have you imported the driver pack for it? Steve

Connect to your wsus database (either using sql management tools with \\.\pipe\MICROSOFT##WID\tsql\query for Windows Internals, or normal if you've migrated it to SQL), and run SELECT * FROM tbSchemaVersion; Will return what your database is currently, and compare it to that script, if it's higher than the script it seems to fail Again, this was a while ago while testing so they might have released an update to fix it but seeing you said about it being fully patched guess it's still happening Steve
