I'm not putting this forward as an actual joke it is kinda like a joke butthis is how bad it can get Last week I bought an alarm clock made out of spuds. It's ok, but it's driving me mad now as the alarm keeps getting me up potato clock.

I do wonder a) how many of 'those parents' will actually understand this b) how professional this is You have parents - you have to work with them to help the kids which can be 'difficult' but basically saying 'lay off you idiots and do it yourself if you think you can' - is not necessarily helpful just my opinions but if I had received a letter like that I would be furious and you don;t want to see me angry - especially if I go all calm and logical Mrs mikeprice has no idea because - after about 10 years - I have never been angry at/to her - because she is 'perfect' - but that letter would really go there for reference - and in case of any future meeting in person with any mods - I have no idea why I put 'perfect' in quotes just to be clear

All pretty and white this morning - not real snow just kinda small flakey bits - but all over started to melt as soon as the Sun came out - couldn't go out for a bike ride due to a) possible ice on roads other than main roads b) flat tyre - investigation led to i) cut finger ii) discovery of (near the smear of blood) small and VERY SHARP piece of glass embedded in the 'puncture resistant' tyre rubber - constant cycle of it slicing into the tyre and the 'goo' (tyre sealant) fixing it - repeat until fixed so now Mrs mikeprice can go back to worrying I will go out and come back witha broken arm - again on which point - cycle helmet has a break - wonder if I have fallen off and bashed my head so badly I forgot about it might explain bit

OK - I demand an impeachment We had some snow this morning OK - several millimetres but it was snow and the Met Office PROMISED there was going to be more some came - and then didn't then it got warmer and some melted but it was OK because the Met Office was saying we would have snow for 3 hours from 4 pm onwards then it got to nearly 2ish and it was sleet for a while - then a break then 3 hours of PROPER snow then it got to 4ish (i.e. close to getting dark and suddenly it switched to NO SNOW AT ALL which means - I had stayed in all day and not gone out on my bike because of the impending snow (slippery - slickish tyres - getting older - kinda dangerous) and NOW they say it ain't gonna happen - just as it starts getting dark!!!!! I get grumpy when I don't go out on my bike when I wanted to

Right - shut down everything call out the snow ploughs break out the emergency equipment turf out all the Covid patients and prepare for RTA cases by the dozen IT HAS ARRIVED several millimetres of the stuff not a single set of foot or tyre print in the whole of this end of the street

That would explain why the squirrels in the woods at the bottom of our garden ALWAYS bury their nuts in the same place then spend all winter sniffing around looking for them are they thick or what????

Just had a phone call from the Doctor [enter Tardis or time travel jokes here] Mrs mikeprice has her vaccine appointment next week which is a relief!!! so soon she should be reasonably safe which just leaves me and the rest of the country!!!

Yes - but I don;t think they have enough volume of members t o force a radical change to how they are treated it really needs TAs terms and condition to be looked at centrally and for there to be a central voice representing them - in the same way that the Teacher unions act together and, of course, other support groups need to be included as well Back on Topic Local paper seems to be saying the local care home residents should all have 'the jab' by the end of the week and the next 2 groups - over 70s plus the shielding group - should be sorted by the end of the week as well - although I'm not sure what they mean by that so - hopefully Mrs mikeprice should be done in the next few days!

Excellent point I would make the same point when people start lauding teacher for their bravery in doing their job as front line workers during this pandemic I once stunned the whole staff room when people were talking about a forthcoming teacher pay rise I suggested the money would be better going to TAs as they needed it more people outside schools forget TAs are the main close pupil contact - especially in Primary - for a lot of kids but they don't have big strong unions behind them

The type that I have heard of they play a ring tone to make you think they have hung up at their end Can they force your own phone (mobile in this case) to refuse to hang up???

Mrs mikeprice had a phone call earlier apparently THE NCA are wanting to talk to her because her NI number has been used for suspicious purposes OK - so far so just another one of those calls - press 1 to talk to etc etc etc but she says that when she tried to hang up it wouldn't let her I have never seen that before - anyone else heard of it????

Finally watched Dr Who from New Year last night - wanted to watch all of Torchwood first Hmmm Start seemed pathetic to be honest but then it rapidly got better but disappointed in Captain Jack - lacked the normal depth partly because John Barrowman looked younger but his face seemed a bit fixed - too much????? overall liked it - but could have been better

Went out to get pie and chips for Mrs mikeprice last night normal chippie is closed on Mondays so had to go to 'the other one' - which is smaller so if there is someone there who is behaving like a moron it has more impact anyway - a family turned up - just in front of me in the queue - Woman, Man and 2 kids (aged about 8-10ish) it was raining a little bit - but they had coats with hoods but it was clearly unacceptable for the little darlings to wait outside in the rain so they all went in - then stood just inside the door so that's 4 people in the shop and the sign on the door clearly says 6 maximum and to get in you have to damn near hug them!! and- to my amazement - the bloke was wearing a face covering - well bandana of unknown thickness - but not the woman clearly they had no concept that 3 of them could have stayed at home and just one adult get the food I'm just amazed the Covid rates are not higher they looked at me weird when I got in by brushing along the counter and then stayed at the very far end - maybe they think I'm an idiot (or possibly they recognise me as I used to work at the nearest school - but I doubt it) sorry - end rant - just had to tell someone and don't want to worry Mrs mikeprice too much

Well I would hope that backup and restore facilities for the databases would be nailed down maybe not efficient or fast - but at least possible and documented (these public type things are normall good at the documentation - if nothing else!) but then - maybe I'm being hopelessly optimistic again

Went to Tesco this morning as we were out of bread It was good to see that they have upped the number of security people on the entrance and are asking people to sanitise their hands on the way in - and had stopped a couple that appeared to be intending to shop together to advise them that they were not supposed to do that

The articles I have seen would look - from the point of vire of someone who 'knows how IT systems work' this would seem like a 'some dumb developer cocked up the parameters/SQL so muggins here has to restore the tables/database from before the $wordforidiotwithoutfrogththreats ran their routine depending on circumstances it could tkae a few hours but SHOULD be trivial technically - but may take a while comes down to "testing is your friend"
