OK, so the migration has gone well... I've just seen that a few students have started creating "groups"! Is there a way to prevent students from creating groups? And staff, someone tried to create a distribution list for themselves and instead created a group with external addresses in it, even though it was private students were able to see the group and the e-mail addresses of the members.

I have two users and myself who signed up to use Options Online. We set this up over a year ago and used the sign in option "Sign in with Microsoft" - at that time we had not migrated to Office 365 so rightly or wrongly this was done using a "personal" MS account. Now we've migrated our email system over to Office 365 we're unable to sign in to Options Online as it logs us out of our emails. Has anyone managed to rectify such an annoyance?

We've been using CON2PRT since forever but it's recently starting doing very weird things and lots of pupils are now not getting printers unless they log on and off again. Did you find a more reliable way of installing Printers under Windows 10?

Does anyone know if this is possible? Office 365 - delete content of a shared folder using powershell. I've run : Get-MailboxFolderStatistics -Identity EMAIL ADDRESS | Select FolderPath,ItemsInFolder and it returns the content of the shared folder. Oh my - yes we did solve this issue, but at almost 2 years ago I just can't recall what the fix was sorry.

Not sure why that would work with yours - it certainly does n't kill GA with our setup.

Just come across an issue whereby DVD's are shown as "UNKNOWN DISC" - I presume this is a known issue under this OS as internet chatter seems to be to install VLC player. We generally to advise staff to use VLC and 99% of the time that works fine, but for this certain DVD VLC won't play it, hence trying to use WMP. Dodgy disc I suspect but wonder if anyone else had any suggestions as to good 3rd party apps for DVD playing?

Chrome is pushed out as an MSI - when we've had this issue before, taking the PC off the domain and re-joining seems to fix it (that will force a Chrome uninstall/reinstall) - but I was trying to figure out a way to fix it without doing that I'd also like to get to the bottom of why it occurs just on our laptops!

We're being plagued by this error on school laptops. The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. It's not happening at all on normal PC's. Has anyone seen anything similar?

New products? School's have no money! Just make the existing products work better (ie reporting) and then you might keep more business.

Exactly where I'm at! Since deploying LTSB I've had zero pain - how life should be. Why do we put up with MS messing things up, it seems, with every new release - not withstanding all the crud that NM's are having to remove! I won't have time for at least 6-9 months to look at Edu versions, but I'd imagine by the time our new (build) school comes online in 2021 I'll have both schools OFF LTSB - shame - as it just works!

Can I ask anyone who is using O365 how many restrictions you impose on your students? I'm migrating our on-prem email solution at Easter (Mdaemon) to O365, but see that opening up the whole of Office 365 to the students will allow them to play with a whole raft of apps; Yammer, Microsoft Teams, StaffHub, Planner etc etc. Is it better to disable / turn off access to all these weird and wonderful apps until I get to grips properly with what they can do, or do people generally just leave everything on by default as not much harm can be done? We've got Office 365 ProPlus for faculty and students which from reading says it comes with 1Tb of storage per user - presumably this is 1Tb per user across all the Apps? So they could have 1Tb of emails and nothing else or 500 Mb of Emails and 500 Mb of Files uploaded to a sharepoint site? Thanks

Is that not a good thing! HAHA - if I read it correctly it means that I'll be responsible for updating which version of Office I want rolled out across my organisation rather than MS upgrading when new versions (unlikely to be on the SIMS compatible list) come out...

So we're experiencing some major issues with Firefly and our timetable - I wondered if anyone had any similar experiences. The major issue is with how Firefly reads the timetable from SIMS, specifically it cannot present sixth form timetables correctly - it struggles with study, futures and EPQ and this results in most student timetables being displayed incorrectly (and there is no pattern to this either). It also affects any member of staff which has study on their timetable too, which is around 50% of our staff! We had no such issues with Moodle/Overnet Data. Possible solutions offered by Firefly are : change how we build our timetable (so removing study etc.) or change our software which we use to build our timetable. Er...really? Have we got such a complex timetable that Firefly cannot handle it or is there a fundamental issue with Firefly and timetables imported from SIMS.net?

As an example the Head's PA manages a list called "teachingschoolheads@...." This list is compromised of around 40 external headteachers school addresses PLUS around 5 or 6 internal staff addresses. The external can only READ from the list and the internal can POST to the list. Are you saying every-time the Head's PA wants to create something like this I have to add all these external addresses to my tenancy? I'm really finding my feet with Office 365 - so apologies if I'm asking dumb questions.

Agreed, but she often sets up lists where the recipients are 95% external and 5% internal - and the 5% can include quite a few teachers who also need to be able to send to the list. I'm guessing they would all have to maintain their own list separately, which is just going to cause issues as external addresses may need to be added and removed....
