Thanks. Agreed, and we've setup our Governors with an AD account - but we've loads of central email lists that head's PA and others use that are a combination of internal and external users. Is it possible under O365 to re-create these lists?

Hi all, We're migrating from Mdaemon to Office 365 at Easter and I'm just looking at how I'm going to replicate some stuff. I've a test Office 365 environment and I can't work out how to create a centralised email distribution list. IE. I get emails from our Head's PA which say things like: Please create a group email called chairsgovs with Dom and I read/write and the following members (READ ONLY): - list of external email addresses Is it possible to do this under Office 365?

When we moved to Windows 10 we had to stop installing CS3 due to the issue you're now having, luckily we had 250 licences for CS6 - so that's all we've got now

Our plan is to edit the main USERLIST.DAT file to reset ALL passwords to something we know (Separate from their AD account) - then post migration they'll obviously use their AD logon to access O365. I had n't considered not migrating all the students, but think I'll be met with opposition if we suggested - they've got quite small mailbox sizes (100Mb) so there won't be much to migrate compared to staff.

Hi, Can I ask what method you used to migrate your mailboxes from MDeamon to O365? Was it just a straighforward IMAP Migration method - in which case how did you reset all your MDaemon accounts to a known password? or did you use something like: https://www.recoverytools.com/mdaemon/migrator/ and create PST files for each user and then upload these to each new O365 account? Sorry to resurrect an older thread, but we're likely to be migrating our Mdaeamon to Office 365 this year and are currently discussing whether the basic O365 backup/retention is good enough or if it's worth paying extra for? The quote for Veeam Backup for O365 is @ £10.96 per user per year. (£1.800 per year)

Our current policy could certainly be improved upon: Enforce password history 3 passwords remembered Maximum password age 120 days Minimum password age 0 days Minimum password length 6 characters Password must meet complexity requirements Disabled Store passwords using reversible encryption Disabled Account Policies/Account Lockout Policy Account lockout threshold 0 invalid logon attempts I think moving to a much higher password age so that passwords don't need to be changed so frequently and then change to 11 characters which must meet complex requirements might be the way to go. But once I make the change in AD - will that prompt everyone to change their passwords immediately - or do I ask everyone to change their passwords first.....is that less disruptive?

A KMS host responds to each valid activation request from a KMS client with the count of how many computers have already contacted the KMS host for activation. Client computers that receive a count below the activation threshold are not activated. For example, if the first two computers that contact the KMS host are running Windows 10, the first receives an activation count of 1, and the second receives an activation count of 2. If the next computer is a virtual machine on a computer running Windows 10, it receives an activation count of 3, and so on. None of these computers will be activated, because computers running Windows 10, like other client operating system versions, must receive an activation count of 25 or more. When KMS clients are waiting for the KMS to reach the activation threshold, they will connect to the KMS host every two hours to get the current activation count. They will be activated when the threshold is met.
