I've just checked our site again, and we've gone from a server with 598 schools to on it to one with just 2!

According to the installation documentation (when I installed X3 a year ago), users of this app need to have access to the Serif Codec unlocking server. Our Synetrix hosted website is down (again). According to this site there are a whopping 598 domains hosted on the same web server as ours. Hosting our own site is fast becoming a better looking idea (especially as we're getting it in the neck over the past few days because of people percieving the outages to be our fault)...

Did you get it direct from Nokia? Or from one of the networks? (If so, which one if you don't mind me asking)

I've managed to figure out a workaround. I created a CMD file on the C: which started the program. And the shortcut just called the CMD file. Simples...

I believe they (Pearson/Longman/Heinneman/WhateverTheyCallThemselvesTheseDays) have withdrawn the VLE (definitely Fronter, but not sure about Moodle or others?) version for ActiveTeach. I have also done an administrative installation to a network share but I'm having a nightmare getting it working. I created a small MSI to deploy the ActiveTeach and ActiveBook shortcuts via GP but the installation is failing. Checking the Event Log reveals this error: Source: MsiInstaller, Event ID: 11327 Product: Exploring Science ActiveBook -- Error 1327.Invalid Drive: P:\ P: isn't mapped until a user logs in. Of course if I install the MSI when I'm already logged in, P: already exists and it works fine. So I thought I'd change the icon to use a UNC path instead. Now when I launch the icon I get this: Director Player Error Object expected Script Error. Continue? Yes/No If I click Yes, wrapper.exe launches but does nothing but a white blank window which won't close. If I click No the program closes. I phoned their Tech Support line and was told that their products don't support UNC paths. D'oh! I *really* don't want to have to manually (e.g script) put the icons onto every PC as every other application we use gets these via GP. Does anyone have any clever ideas about GP deployment for shortcuts using drive letters that don't exist before user logon?

In the winter of '92 my flatmates and I decided we were going to learn to do the Rubik's cube. We used to pull them to bits first, and put powdered graphite inside them to lubricate them so they spun very easily (the downside was that if you didn't have them lined up enough and then tried to turn them sideways they tended to explode...) and we learnt the 6 different styles of move required to complete. My record was 1:31. But now in my old age I can't remember the last 2 moves, so can't get it quite done.

I'm not sure about the cost of the ink, but I made a spreadsheet that included a load of different paper types for our A0 printer, to work out how many printouts I could get out of the rolls of paper and the approx cost of that piece of paper used...

I made a transform (MST) file for the Client7.0.131.56_En_EUIT.msi install file that contained the registry key.
