Can you convert the PDF to a Word document and see if it prints that way?

I guess it depends what is being printed... if its something large like a .PSD file it might be able to spool due to a lack of memory. If it's just word documents etc. then its a bit of a mystery.

Are you using the PCL5 driver? If not, give that a go.

Hi. I have an Adobe CLP License for CS6. We are in the process of creating a Windows Remote Desktop Services server which in theory will allow our staff the ability to access CS6 from home via terminal services. I was just wondering if anyone is currently doing this and whether the CLP license covers our use to publish CS6 through the server? I can't find anything on the Adobe website to confirm or deny whether this is possible. Cheers.

If you could narrow it down to 2 computer suites, you could simply add up to 64 computers in the 'Log on to' section of the account tab in Active Directory. I guess this won't solve your problem but it will make it a bit more manageable.

Hi. Has anyone ever heard of a product named Data Tool Kit (DTK) by a company called Datasec? Our School's SLT is about to purchase this software for £5,500pa but I have no idea how good it is. Judging from their website it seems to be a SIMS extrapolation tool, a bit like Discover (which we already have). Thanks.

Hi. I'm just having a play around with Windows 8 and actually quite like the idea of using the Metro UI rather than the classic start menu approach. One idea I've had is to create 3 separate Metro Tile interfaces - 1 for students, 1 for teachers and 1 for administrators. I was just wondering whether anyone else has managed to do this, or whether its even possible? Cheers. Alan.

Hi. I'm currently using SharePoint for our School VLE. Internally, it works great. However, the VLE is terribly slow when its being used externally. Our whole VLE is currently HTTPS when you authenticate externally. I am interested in just making our login page HTTPS and the rest of it HTTP. Having done a bit of research it seems that HTTP is a less secure method. However, I'm interested to know if anyone else is currently doing this with their school's VLE and if so, have you encountered any security issues? Thanks.

I think you are right. If I had never heard of The Inbetweeners I think I'd probably like this. I can't imagine it being as crude as the UK version.

Changing the view to medium/large icons works a treat, although if you hover over the drive it will still tell you it's capacity. Its a decent fix though.

Hi. I'm finding it hard to explain this one, but basically the network drives show a blue or red bar, depending on how much capacity there is on their respective server. I'm a bit worried that if students see an almost full red-coloured bar, they'll see it as a challenge to try and fill the disks. Does anyone know of way in which to remove the coloured bar and also to remove the 'xxGB free of xxTB' message? Thanks.
