Mrs_C has decided we need more technology in our lives; and we relish the photo opportunities of the cats riding on one... So, does anyone have one? Would you recommend it? Does it cope with several ponds of cat hair each week? Can it transition from a vinyl floor, over an ali strip, onto the carpet? We're not planning to go cheap, nor do we have bottomless pockets.

Rather than flicking it every so often - can you remove it and cable tie a suitable fan to the outside of the enclosure? Would need an external PSU too. It is Heath Robinson, but better that the thing going into protection, shutting down, and taking servers off-line.

Problems arise if you try to insure HER car with you as the principle driver, and her as named, particularly when not at the same address.

You should be able to add her as a named driver. Talk to your insurers - you could save a packet.

Another "gotcha" is switching. If you try to switch an entire rig of LEDs or movers on at once, is that the inrush currents can erroneously trip breakers. High leakage currents can cause issues with RCDs. Split the rig into zones. Have some sot of switching so you can turn off individual circuits if a lantern start misbehaving.
