Did anyone else attempt to get an answer about this at BETT? I tried, but despite there being multiple displays promoting the benefits of Office 365, the presenters seemed oblivious to the fact that it was impossible to actually buy it! To be fair I think most of the people on there were partners, and not actually from Microsoft. I did find a guy who seemed to be there to give purchasing advice, but he didn't have a clue and just suggested getting A1 licences.

Hi All, As our MDM is up for renewal, and as we are a using SCCM for most of our Windows management, I was keen to have a go with inTune. I asked our Microsoft Agreement reseller for pricing and was quoted £21 per device! That would be crazy money for 900+ iPads and 400+ Desktop and Laptops. Way more than we currently pay. Is this a normal price for inTune in education, or has our reseller made a mistake? We are on an OVS-ES agreement. Thanks.

Very frustrating. So, they turn off the old way of doing it. Set up a new way, and then make it impossible to licence it! Can we have an OVS agreement, and a EES agreement just for this? Our reseller said just buy the licence through the portal. You can't. It's not listed.

Yes, this is what i've done now. One Drive is working perfectly, unfortunately just found out I can't get the device licences for Office 365 as we are OVS rather than EES. They don't make it easy!

So I found this page. Makes me even more confused! Why bundle OneDrive with Office if it's already in Windows? So I don't need Groove. But is the other option the latest client that works with OneDrive for Business or is it the version for personal accounts? Or does it do both? Why Microsoft decided to give two different products the same name is beyond me. Especially as they don't make the effort to differentiate them in their own tools! Also, how is this different from the OneDrive client that is built into Windows? And is this the same as the thing they are describing as the OneDrive for Business Sync App? I don't suppose there is blog out there that explains all the different versions?

Hi can anyone clarify something for me. I'm just about to attempt a Device Based Subscription install of Office 365 (assuming I can get the licences out of our reseller). I'm using the Office Customization tool to set it up. I notice that the tool offers OneDrive (Groove), and OneDrive Desktop. Is this still OneDrive for Business, vs the consumer version, or is the desktop version the new client that I should now be using for OneDrive for Business? Also, I understand that on shared computers I need to install OneDrive using the /Allusers switch to ensure it installs to Program Files rather than AppData. How do I specify this option inside an Office 365 install? Can this be specified in the xml somehow? Or should I be turning off both options and just installing OneDrive completely separately using the standalone installer? Thanks!

We have a suite of 20 macs and managing them has always been tricky, but at least it was possible. Apple seem to be doing everything they can to make We used DeployStudio to deploy with MacOS and Bootcamp for Windows 10. We used Profile manager to handle network shares. It's a long time since I've looked at it but I think there was a issue where you could only deploy shares to computer groups rather than user groups, or maybe it was the other way around. It was broken in some way, but we worked around it. It seems to have recently got a lot worse. Apple have now done everything they can to prevent imaging completely and are saying that DEP and MDM are the only way forward. Catalina, and the latest version of the server remove a lot of the useful features. I just don't really get it as MDM controls are so limited regardless of which one you buy into. How do I install Adobe CC or Office, or any other non-store app? How do I install our pack of fonts we deploy? How do I configure the default profile or tweak any settings that aren't in the MDM (a lot of them!) How do I configure bootcamp and a Windows partition without imaging? We only have 20 Macs so purchasing a expensive deployment system is just a waste. I think the Macs will be going on eBay soon as they are no longer fit for purpose in a network environment. I think in a one to one scenario you could get away with it, but a small suite is just impossible to manage.

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for licence management software? Our list of licences has become quite large, and tricky to keep track of with different renewal lengths, and timeframes for cancellation etc.. We really want something that will make it easy to track licence renewals, and provide timely reminders. Also tracking of SSL certificates would be a good bonus feature. Thanks.

Hi SysprepMe. Don't suppose you have a link to a guide for this new method? It's the first I've heard about it! Your problems with activation seem to be the same as ours. So, just to clarify, using OPPTransition is the 'old' method?

Can anyone provide the exact path to this ReportData.xls file? I've run a search on our entire Sims server and it's not anywhere as far as I can tell. It does exist in users Documents Folders in the tempSimsRpt folder, but that is just the data for the most recently run report so changes every time. Thanks.

It's driving me crazy today. It runs through. Says it's activating. Completes the process with no errors and then when you run office. Immediately you get the 'Sign in to Office' box pop up. Another time. It ran thorough, got to the point where it says Activating, and then pops up with a box saying 'Sign in' which is prepopulated with the device username e.g. _device_LAPTOP_122, this doesn't work as it then asks for the device account password. Then randomly, I ran the command a third time, and it completed the activation correctly. It's so unstable that I don't know what to do! The thing is, last week it appeared to be working fine. Just for the record I have the 'Shared Vomputer activation' mode turned off, as I believe that is only for RDP.

Most just prompt for username and password. Some are actually prompting for a device password which I've never seen before! Going to start from scratch and redeploy. Only three dats to go and running out of time! Has anyone else had any recent problems with a previously working activations suddenly not working?

Hi, has anyone come up with a solution to this? We've just noticed it today. Has been working fine for several months until now. We are using 41 of 100 licences according to the admin console, but getting 'The device was not activated properly'. Adobe's implementation of Shared Licences is absolutely horrendous!

Can anyone confirm if 'Total Care' is part of the same company? We have an iPad under repair that seems to have gone missing, and we have insurance with them until the end of term. I'm guessing we are no longer covered!

Not OP, but I've been trying lots of different ways to get this working, but nothing seems to be reliable. The client itself seems impossible to get working without the user having to sign in to it manually. From the help website: Silently sign in users to the OneDrive sync client with their Windows credentials If you enable this setting, users who are signed in on a PC with the primary Windows account (the account used to join the PC to the domain) can set up the sync client without entering their account credentials. Users will still be shown OneDrive Setup so they can select folders to sync and change the location of their OneDrive folder. This seems crazy, as who is ever going to be logged in as the same account that joined the domain? Has anyone got it working completely silently for all users, so it just works without any user intervention?

It might be. I did it differently using a local ADFS server, so I haven't touched Azure. It could well be different.

Hmm, thanks for that Arthur. Interesting. I'm wondering if it's different on PC, or if there is something wrong with our ADFS setup, as it's not auto logging in at that stage, even if we launch directly into Photoshop. I'll investigate that. Colly, not sure if you've got that far yet, but even when it's connected to your domain for single sign on, it seems to me that you still need to manually import all the users from a CSV to allow them to log in, otherwise you just get permission denied.

I'm guessing this isn't possible. Finally bit the bullet, and have switched from Device based activation (which worked brilliantly), to the new shared device activation that Adobe are needlessly enforcing for CC 2019. Set it up with ADFS and have successfully imported all the users, and they can log in with their domain details. That is fine, except now there is the added hassle of every user having to log in manually to CC every time they change computers. To make matters worse, the username and password dialogue box asks for your email address, then redirects to the ADFS logon page, and asks for your email address again, so users have to type in their whole email address twice! I don't suppose anyone is aware of a way to automate the sign in based on domain credentials?

Hi, We have a public address system in our academy. It works well except there is a separate sixth form building that it isn't connect to. Hence they miss all the announcements. The only link between the buildings is a Fibre Optic Cable used for the network. If there was spare CAT5 we could use an audio extender, but as we only have the used fibre, so the solution would have to be IP based. Is anyone aware of a device that will basically transfer an analogue audio input over the network, and the convert back to analogue at the other end. Really would like two simple boxes, but happy to consider a 'software on a laptop' type solution if necessary. I've been looking but struggling to find anything that can do this that isn't several thousand pounds and designed for professional audio. Thanks.

Thanks, thought so! I just had a policy that wasn't applying to Office 365, but I think it's just a one off. Everything else working fine. Thanks for your help.
