Unfortunately not fixed in 6.0.81. Both myself and another member of staff have had the missing text since the update. Usually it happens when booting up from cold. Restart fixes it. We are both using Nvidia graphics. 64bit Windows.

HyperV 2016 and Integration Services
mitchell1981 replied to mitchell1981's topic in Windows Server 2016
Sorry only just saw your question. No, never got anywhere with this. All our servers show out of date Integration services in the cluster report, and all of the servers are completely up to date so don't really know what else to try. Everything I've read online suggests that Windows update is supposed to handle it, but it apparently doesn't. Did you make any further progress? -
[1703, cu] Windows 10 Creators Update (v1703) now available to download

Does anyone know where to find the language packs for this version? -
Hi All, Does anyone know what method Impero uses to shut down a computer? Is it somehow different from using the manual shutdown process? We've noticed something strange on our system. If a user shuts down their computer using the normal "Start button > Shutdown" method, then we can wake it from LAN using Impero. However, if the machine is shut down using Impero, then it can't be woken and we have to physically go to it to switch it back on. Anyone got any ideas? This is Windows 10, and Very PC all-in-one computers. Thanks.

Can anyone tell me what this addition to an ethernet cable is for? We bought a job lot of Cat6 cables on ebay, and some have this. Just can't work out it's purpose! It is sprung loaded and moves in and out.

Thanks all. I think we will follow the general advice and buy more batteries and replace them all. They are around 5 years old anyway so definitely due a replacement.

Hi All, We have a number of APC Smart UPS 5000 (SUA5000RMI5U) in our server room. One of them has started to report that a battery need replacing but it isn't telling us which one. We've got a replacement ready to go but there are four batteries in the unit. Do we have to manually test the batteries with a battery tester to see which one has failed, or are we overlooking a log somewhere that identifies the location of the failed battery? Thanks.

HyperV 2016 and Integration Services
mitchell1981 replied to mitchell1981's topic in Windows Server 2016
It looks like my VMs are on version 8! -
Has anyone migrated to Hyper-V 2016? Mostly working ok here, but when I run a cluster validation, it is saying that every VM has outdated Integration Services. See screenshot below. Apparently the only way to update Integration Services is though Windows Update, but all these servers are completely up to date. Is it just a bug with the Validation, or am I missing something. If anyone else is on HyperV 2016 and clustered, can you check your validation and see if you get the same? Most of these VMs are Server 2012 R2. Thanks.

Yes, have been using the FQDN. It seems very odd to me that everything works as expected apart from going direct to the domain name. Can't see anything obviously wrong in DNS but will keep looking.
-
Not sure what is going on here, but before when we typed in: \\domainname\ We would be presented with the domain shares, Netlogon and Sysvol. Now it doesn't work. It just says the network path was not found. If we specify one of the shares such as: \\domainname\sysvol it works fine. Pinging the domain name returns one of the domain controllers as it should. Also, if we put in any of the domain controllers: \\dc01\ it works and shows the shares. Does anyone know how the domain share itself is configured and how I check it? It appears to be breaking some of our group policy scripts.

Hi, I'm in the process of tidying up our Firewall (a Watchguard XTM device), and removing old rules that I don't think should be there. I've noticed a rule that allows all internal addresses outgoing access on TCP and UDP port 0. I don't really know what this means. If I disable it, then the internet stop working, but I don't think this seems like a normal configuration. I admit my knowledge in this area is not great. Does anyone know why this rule would be there, and why it would prevent internet access when disabled? All I can find about Port 0 is that it is 'reserved'. There are other rules in place allowing 80 and 443 out. Thanks.

Yes, Windows 10 Anniversary and Adobe Reader DC. That's probably it then! I guess it's a case of waiting for a fix then, or switching PDF viewers. Thanks for quick response.
-
Anyone else seeing this on PDF printouts from Adobe Reader? We thought we'd fixed it by upgrading to the latest version but it keeps coming back! Doing it on multiple models of printer so it doesn't seem to be driver related.

Hi, Can anyone give me an overview of how to configure reverse proxy on a Watchguard XTM box? At my previous school I did it with ISA and then TMG. This was necessary as we only had one external IP. At this school we have a lot more external IPs so it hasn't been a problem. But now all my IPs are used. I need to forward incoming requests from different URLs to different servers depending on the URL like I could with TMG. Is this possible with the Watchguard XTM 520? I've found various guides online but all assume a 1:1 ratio of external to internal IPs. Thanks.

Black screen problems with Windows 10 at login
mitchell1981 replied to timbo343's topic in Windows 10
Hmm. We are on 5420 which I assume is the latest version (although I never know how to find out what the latest version is). I'll log it with the Impero support desk. I don't think it was happening before the latest update. -
Black screen problems with Windows 10 at login
mitchell1981 replied to timbo343's topic in Windows 10
We don't use patch management but are still getting the black screens. Is the patch management agent installed along with the standard agent even if you aren't using it? What is the process to remove just the patch management element? Thanks. -
I'll give that a try. I haven't actually installed it yet. Was just trying to modify an offline version with DISM.

I wonder if they've done something to the evaluation ISO since you wrote this. I just get the following error. The current edition cannot be upgraded to any target editions.
-
Is anyone else still having problems? Just seems to be popping up randomly all the time and when I look it just says 'Authenticated as Anonymous' (Not You) click here to log in. After logging in it works fine, but the LMA is not doing it's job. On the latest version. The IP is in the registry. Not using 'switch user'. Very frustrating. I'll try again with Lightspeed Support.

We have also had the additional parent called "Parent/Guardian" problem with a lot of our year 7s. No obvious reason for it.

Outlook not connecting - website down
mitchell1981 replied to Novalee's topic in Enterprise Software
You could try putting your details into this and it will let you know if there are any issues with any part of the connection process. Usually helps me to track down the problem. https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ -
Not really. The problem is it appears to be random. Sometimes users get authenticated and other times not. It's a bit frustrating as it's very difficult to demonstrate the problem to Lightspeed. Same symptoms as you. The user gets asked to authenticate manually. Unfortunately even that doesn't tend to work on sites such as YouTube (I think anything https) which don't bring up the login page, so the user just gets an error message.

Thanks. I have passed on the details to our police liaison guy. Hopefully it will help.
