This is why I'm holding off upgrading our vSphere cluster. I spoke to Veeam at the RM Seminars earlier this week and he echoed the message that Veeam have sent out this morning about holding back as the next update for Veeam won't be out for a few weeks. I don't think vSphere 6 brings any real benefits for us anyway so there's no rush here

We're using PaperCut MF with Toshiba MFDs for follow me printing and copy tracking, and restrictions on the desktop printer fleet also. We use RFID cards for authentication which we already had for door access. Staff have taken to it without too much fuss, they now remember to bring their door entry/ID cards!! We used Arena Group (based in Leeds) for both the MFDs and PaperCut, it's useful having just one company looking after both systems as there's no blaming it on another company!

We were told by Stone that independent schools were covered and then sold PCs with Shape the Future licenses. Then they added a page on their site saying state funded schools only

Does this mean that independent schools will be eligible for TAP again?

I'd query the 600x web filter licenses, you've got 500 machines, but 1000 users, do you need to license the 1000 or the 500? This is something Smoothwall failed to give a decent answer to when I asked them. Could you license less to save money?

Would the power supplied in these be capable of powering a mid-range graphics card to do a bit of casual gaming?

We had this intermittently issue with an EB-X7, we replaced it with a Casio XJ-M130 and not had any issues since. We've now got the same issue with another EB-X7.

The ToughSwitch comes as either 5 port, 8 port, or 2x 8 ports in a rack chassis together. Alternatviely there are the EdgeSwitches or UniFi switches that come in 24 and 48port varieties.

Netstumbler (bit outdated now though) will do this when paired up with a GPS device. You can then use various online services to convert the GPS log in to a map of hotspots. It's been a while since I messed around with this. There's probably various apps for smartphones that will do it all now as nearly all have wifi and GPS.

It should be quite a straight forward upgrade add the option of intelligent/LED fixtures. To get 'hot' power on the lighting bars as required by LED fixtures, you could just patch the 15a sockets in to 13a outlets rather than the dimmers. You could get some of the sockets replaced with 13/16a sockets also if required. If you're wanting to replace all of your generic fixtures with LEDs then I'd suggest looking at RGBA (red, green, blue, amber) LED fixtures as you can get a warmer light output from them more similar to that of tungsten lamps. If you intend to only use the LEDs for adding colour and are going to keep the generic stuff for key light then you could get away with cheaper RGB/RGBW LED fixtures.

When somebody hit my car, I spoke to my insurers (Admiral) and they wanted to deal with it via Albany, I said no and sorted it all out via the 3rd parties insurance company.] From what I read online, if you deal with Albany Assistance they will give you a hire car with a daily hire price ~£200, and could have it for a couple of weeks, they try to claim the money back from the insurance company, they refuse as it's much more than a hire car should cost, then Albany need you to go to court with them to help claim the cost back otherwise you're liable to pay!

I approve! A few years ago I decided to swap my main home desktop for a Mac Mini as I wanted a change. Fixing Windows PCs at work all day, then coming home to more Windows related issues! I've had hardly any issues with it. I bought a late 2009 model off eBay, upgraded the RAM to 8GB, added a 128GB SSD and put the original HDD in the CD bay. It runs OS X 10.10 fine, and I even play a few Steam games on it (although with lower detail settings and lower res ). I think the time might be coming for me to get a newer computer but with the new Mac Mini having soldered RAM it's really put me off

The CC4 Station Renaming update (DWN4194776) works on CC4.2 and CC4.3. We have it installed on CC4.3. Create your new locations, move the PCs to the new locations that you want then rename the PCs.

The normal Windows 7 login screen is there, just you can't see it. The cursor should be focused on the username field so you can enter that, tab to the password field, press enter and wait, should log you in, you can then manually run the RM Core Upgrade, alternatively just rebuild!

Pretty much the same with me when somebody hit my car. They were at fault so everything was dealt with by their insurance company, apart from the personal injury stuff. When I had a bump earlier in the year (my fault) and wrote my car off, I dealt with my insurance company, they made me a stupid offer for my car, I told them it was worth more (source: Autotrader), they went off to check Autotrader, agreed that I was correct and paid that amount (minus 10% which they said you should expect to haggle off the price).
