Hi All I am looking for some general advice and rough figures on what other schools have done in the past. I know you beautiful people can help me... you lovely fantastic guys you We are looking at ways to overhaul our RM CC3 network and go down the virtual route. Our current servers are all getting a bit old and reaching capacity so soon enough things are going to start failing. Here is our current setup: 4x DC and file servers, Win sr 2003 (including users, user areas, app and file shares) 1x Exchange 2003 1x SIMS.NET 1x File share server 1x Web Server 1x Cashless Catering server 1x Smart cache server 1x Spam and AV filter Our full nightly backups are reaching near on 1.5TB (not too much tbh). Could someone please offer a little advice on the kind of server we would need to virtualise this lot, rough spec, rough cost and if other people have done it before? We are trying to sell this to the Business Manager who is a very green person so energy saving info would be fantastic. Also wherever the VMware route or Windows Virtual Server route would be best. Obviously during these times the budget is going to be quite slim but any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all and Happy Tuesday!!

Car accident - other driver paid for repairs but their garage wrecked the car
gl3nnym replied to a topic in General Chat
If I remember rightly, everything needs to be reported to the insurance company regardless of if you are going to use them to claim or not. Failure to disclose any information could invalidate the cover and the car would then be used illegally (depends on how nice the insurer is feeling I guess). I don't think the insurance company would agree to pay for the damage but it might be worth calling them, explaining what has happened and seeing what they say. Either way the insurance companies like the know EVERYTHING. Sounds like a dodgy garage set up to me. -
Been using Remote Desktop Connection Manager and it makes my life so much easier! Great piece of software.

Does Boot Camp not do this process for you? I think that gives you the drivers to enable a Windows install on an Intel mac.

Our LA are proposing a pay freeze for the next 4 years but will ensure all jobs are safe. I am not affected as I already am at the top of my scale.

Good luck! Well done for moving to the 'other side'.

Meh, I like Google but people are starting to hate them for their large presence online.

Puh and you wonder why it starts up slow? I mean come on, 4 hyper-threaded cores? Living in the stone age there :-p

Apart from the layout, your skills and experience are very similar to my own. Thanks! I now feel confident that when I want to look for a job I might actually have a chance :-)

Ahh you poor thing! Well done though :-) Things are certainly looking up! Might jump on to Monster myself...

No problem at all. Does the printer work without it? You could always just ignore it like those times you open up a laptop, put it back together and still get left with spare screws!

Here are photos close up of the tray underneath the big black bit. Doesn't look like much there and tbh the photo quality is terrible (sorry). It on our tray we don't have that smaller piece, only the bigger piece that clips in. Hope it helps some way.

Not a great photo im afraid. Looks like the roller bit clips in underneath and the other bit goes on top and clips on flush with the unit... Do you like the technical speak there? Excuse the quality but I hope it helps a little.

Those worst website links are simply horrific. I think I am hyperventilating!

Twitter feed for the amount of stupid things we get asked to do? Would we actually physically kill Twitter? -
Oh it works now. My firewall probably.

Link not working? Might be me.

Windows XP on HP COMPAQ 615 Laptop with CC3 - Page fault in Nonpaged area
gl3nnym replied to Richings110's topic in Windows
Just to bring up the thread again. We are getting a steady stream of these laptops back to be rebuilt (about 1 or two per day) and we are now doing it without the display drivers. Will post with my findings. -

6:45? Pah I am just getting into my car at that time. Long commute! Not sure if I would like to live on site as people would never leave me alone. -

Just out of curiosity, what time was the alarm? -
Funnily enough I just met some guys that do this and they are going to take me along to try it out. Sounds like great fun! Being a mw2 fan as well :-D

I also played the first one after hammering mw2 over and over again. Addictive! Brilliant game the first one and would definitely recommend it.
