No not at all. There are special sites specifically for dangerous waste such as asbestos and other chemical stuff.

It gets disposed of by landfill or incineration at specialist places (cant mess with this stuff!).

Acronyms are constantly changing and new ones come up all the time. I would just go to Google and type "acronym " and you are pretty much certain to find out.

Have you combed the switches properly to see if you are having a loopback? Maybe see if there is error reporting on the switch itself.

Ok I am having small problems. I have built the PC into Vista and added it to the domain relatively pain free so far. The thing is, now when I try to go into Control Panel there is nothing there. I need to change the regional settings for SIMS to work but there are no icons there for me to click on. I have added my domain user to the local admins and I am a domain admin anyway. Any way I can resolve this? Thanks.

Brillaint thanks. Will get my machine built tomorrow and add it to the domain under an OU with no policies. Really need to get some hands on!

@jsnetman Yes I have heard of Windows 7 thank you and would prefer to use that but as the school has already paid for my course I have to learn it and pass it. So before I rebuild my machine to vanilla Vista, there shouldn't be any problem with GPO's and such?

Hi all We have a CC3 network and I know well enough that Vista cannot be run on CC3 without the Client Connect pack. We don't have this pack but I still want to use Vista on my PC which I use all the time as a technician. Is it feasable to build a computer as vanilla Vista and add it to the domain but without smart client'ing it? I know I would not be able to access Management console but I can remote to a server for that if need be. Thanks! *I am doing an MS Vista course and need to get plenty of hands on experience.

Rebuilding many many RM machines. Having server downtime to clean the dust in our server room. Drawing up plans for a new ICT suite.

How do you filter the internet? Maybe someone has accidently set a different permission for that specific machine?

I have used ViceVersa in the past to transfer files and folders between server while retaining NTFS permissions. We did buy it but they have a 30 day free trial.

Do you log the names of the students that use them? Also I think a teacher has a certain responsibility to ensure laptops are treated well in a classroom (although I understand they cannot be everywhere at once). We will lend out a laptop and if it comes back damaged an automatic detention and letter home is sent. The pupil then looses any privilages to use a laptop for the rest of the term or year (depends on damage).

I would also like to know this as I am a new user. Not been neg rep'd yet luckily!

Looking good so far. I used to work at the Chafford Hundred Campus and heard good things about Ockendon School! I like the white, going for the minimalist and clean look. I have used this previously for fading image slideshows: jQuery Cycle As with the Latest News part. you may be best off steering clear of java applets and going for an RSS or twitter feed? Or even just static text rather than having bloaty applications for a couple of paragraphs of text.
