I'm guessing that by Galaxy S, you mean the much-anticipated SIII? I have the S and it's a really nice phone....My sister has the SII and that's a beauty, but the SIII is supposed to be released VERY soon, and could well be phone of the year. Personally, I'm waiting for that to come out....and then wait a while until I can upgrade!!!

That's the biggest shock for me! I know that these lists are subjective, and that everyone has their own ideas on what is great.....but for anyone of a certain age, Elite was THE game of the 80's.....surely?

Sir, have you considered a rather good lager from Germany called "Warsteiner"? I think you'll find that that hits the spot in a rather pleasant way! Very hard to find in this country.... that's why I tend to stick to 1664 or "Dennis Waterman"* *"Dennis Waterman" is the corker of a line that I used in a pub a few weeks ago.....as in.... So then, how likely is that to happen? If it really was "likely" then surely there would be many, many more deaths each weekend from fights in town centres? The unfortunate death of the man was, i would argue, not a likely result of punching him. What if he'd had a hereditary weak spot in his skull? I'm not here to defend the actions of a thug, but to defend the law's right to charge and convict on manslaughter, rather than murder.

But how can anyone KNOW that he is going to bang his head, suffer brain damage, and die? Yes, thugs should be banged up, and for as long as possible, but you have to take everything into account. Sadly this has been missing from life in general for many years....

Ok...so I'll play devil's advocate on this one.... Regardless of pleading guilty to other charges, the manslaughter charge is a different case. The fact that he hit the man, who then fell and banged his head (causing his death) means that a murder charge is not appropriate. Had it been a pre-meditated attack, then murder would certainly have been the charge.

It's a DrayTek Vigor2800 with telnet and http. I've managed to find a script for re-booting > Draytek Vigor 2800 reboot script « Duncan Smart's Weblog But don't know how to implement that into a script to test ping a couple of sites, before forcing a reboot of the router, if there's no response.

Does anyone have a script for rebooting a router? My problem is that our router keeps dropping out, and it'll do it at the most inopportune moments! What I'm looking for is a way to schedule a script to ping an outside site or two, every few hours, and if they can't be reached, to reboot the router. However, my knowledge of scripting doesn't extend that far, so I was wondering if anyone has something similar that I could adapt, or point me in the direction of something useful. Many thanks! I would advise having a look on the web for a suitable build for the HTC. I'm pretty certain that there are a few about. In fact, go here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=765 ...and take a look. If you've never flashed your phone before, you will need to root it first. It's pretty straight-forward after that.

So you wouldn't call having a bot on a Mac as being infected? That was the point of my previous post. The bot is still an outside influence, is it not?

It's the way that some people have that supercillious attitude that Macs are impervious to any outside influence. I like to point out that that is because their share of the market is so miniscule as to not make writing a virus that worthwhile. Why hit the 2%, when you can hit the other 95% (or whatever the current share is!! The remaining 3% being Linux....which can also get viruses!!) However, with the popularity of iOS increasing, more and more viruses/bots will be released into the wild. This, somewhat, passes over their heads....

This is a very good point. If you have nothing to worry about, then you will accept the erosion of your freedom, in this way. It was the same as the ID cards that were mooted in the '80's. Surely this cannot be realistic? Are they looking for the quickest, easiest, way out of the console market? Why would you take backwards compatibility out? It's hard to believe that the top people at Sony would allow this?

If you go to the link in my previous reply, and head over to the Galaxy SII thread, you should find everything you need. Don't be scared! It's pretty straightforward, and once you do it, you'll feel more at ease with doing it again! (sounds like a lot of other things.....!!)
