  1. Next time I'm down, I'll wave to you from P Block then!!! And if you ever need a techie....that'd just about be my dream job!!!
  2. Gianni Paladini - He's actually a pretty decent bloke. The only problem was that he brought Tango & Cash to the club, so was always beholden to them. I met him quite a few times when I worked in a casino in London. His heart was really in the club, to the extent that he re-mortgaged his house to stop us from going under.
  3. If that's the case....I'm shocked that he hasn't been in touch to offer free tickets!!!! (joke!)
  4. It does make you wonder what goes on at Chelshehehehehehehehehe!!! Warnock had his hands tied by Tango & Cash not investing in players, before selling to Fernandes. Amit Bhatia and Fernandes have fought all season to get us in a reasonable position, but I still think sacking Warnock was a backward step. I expect us to get relegated now...as 2 from the bottom 5 are bound to climb above us. That won't stop me going to Bolton on Saturday to support the boys! 3 points we REALLY need!
  5. Warnock didn't quit....he was fired. Much to my disappointment and amazement. As a QPR fan, I am interested in other's views on this. The film showed the merry-go-round that we've been through as fans. Even though Tango & Cash (Briatore and Ecclestone) saved us from liquidation, there was still a feeling amongst us that we were just a millionaire's plaything. This is what the film really showed.... Briatore - "4-4-2,4-4-2,4-4-2,4-4-2" He clearly wanted to be a manager....and rumours of him meddling in team affairs were always rife. I must admit....I even shed a couple of tears towards the end, as the good memories came flooding back! That's WHY I love my club!
  6. HBJB.....Did you do it? Any news? My ICS install was running nicely, but then over the weekend it started to freeze. Then, on sunday, it stopped booting altogether! Anyhow, I had a Titanium backup stored, so I revooted into recovery, wiped to factory reset, cleared cache and re-installed ICS. Took this as a good time to thin out some of the apps that I'd put on, and it seems to be running fine now. A LOT quicker! Also, I have an extended battery so I'm getting more than 1 day out of it.
  7. I will skip the S2, and wait for the S3 too.....Ceramic body will be very nice, and shipping with ICS will be a deal-winner. ICS is a very nice OS (as you can see from previous comments of mine!) and it has given my S a new lease of life. By the way.....Why is it that when you flash a new ROM to your phone, the screen seems to become as good as new, to the touch? Or is that just me???
  8. BBC News - Apple 'deception' alleged in Proview iPad trademark row Seems like a spot of corporate lying has been going on..... But then, let he who is without sin....etc etc etc!
  9. Ok....HBJB... Providing you are on 2.3.3, here is the link that explains how to root your phone... How To Root XWJVH Android 2.3.3 ROM for Galaxy S i9000 | The Android Soul This will also install ClockWorkMod Recovery.... This is what you need to flash the ROM. Once this is ready, it's worth going to Market and downloading "Titanium Backup". Backup all your data and apps to your external SDCard. Once this is done, go to this next link.... [ROM][iCS][i9000] Team ICSSGS RC4.2 - xda-developers Scroll down to downloads and pick the top one..... Connect your phone to PC, and put the zip file onto the internal card. Boot into CWM mode (To boot into ClockworkMod Recovery — power Off your phone completely and then, press and hold (till Galaxy S logo appears): VolumeUP+HOME+POWER). You will then see that you can install the zip from sdcard. You may want to clear to factory settings before and AFTER you flash the ROM. I didn't and it doesn't seem to affect the phone....but that's in MY experience. Go to market, download "Titanium Backup" again, and restore all data and apps. Relatively straight forward, but you do this at your own risk!
  10. Just off to lunch, but once back I will put together a list of sites to visit.... Can you check, and post, what build you are on, so I can point you in the right direction? Thanks!
  11. From what I've read, there are no plans to release ICS on the SGS. It seems that once the phone is out, manufacturers like to give little or no support to their customers with regards to updating to the latest OS. This is a major bugbear of mine, as I believe that this is on purpose, so that we buy new phones. I would rather put my faith in XDA or similar, as Samsung show no interest in upgrading
  12. Hi HBJB, This is ON the Galaxy S! It is a really easy process....although I was a little nervous to begin with!! If you want more info, just let me know
  13. Sounds fantastic, mate! Glad you had a great weekend....now stop worrying about hitting 30, and concentrate on the more important things in life! Age is but a number!
  14. Nooooooooooooooooo!!!! Ya beat me! Must try Quadrant again.....!!!
  15. It's a pleasure! Quick tip...... Got lots of apps? More than the 5 screens will let you show? Put 1 app on top of the other and watch it make a folder! Rename, and Voila! I have a folder named after my son....into which all the games go! That way, when he comes to visit...I can hand him the phone....tell him to look in HIS folder, and everything he wants to play is there!
  16. Nah...not upset...just amazed at the amount of times people (not necessarily you) join threads about football, just to say they don't like it! Anyway....the same DOES apply for Cricket...which is especially useful for the Ashes downunder, and England on the sub-continent! I'll never pay Sky!
  17. Ok...so you are used to flashing ROMs...That's good! Means there's less chance of you bricking it!! Here is the link for ICS, which I used. It is very stable (so far) and really is quite beautiful.....If such a thing can be said about a phone OS!!!! [ROM][iCS][i9000] Team ICSSGS RC4.2 - xda-developers Download from the top link of the two....flash...and enjoy ICS heaven!!! Post your quadrant score, when you get a chance.... On Full Benchmark Test, mine scored....1235
  18. So why the need to comment on a thread that holds no interest for you? I've never understood that..... There are 70,000+ threads, and you come to one that you have no interest in??? Anyway, you can blame SKY for that....not football in general. Back in the olden times, ALL games started at 3pm on a saturday... Match of the Day had 1 main game and 2 for highlights.....and football was much better for it..... IMO!!!
  19. I downloaded the ROM from the web....also I rooted the phone before started so that ClockWorkMod was installed.... It really was simple, but best to read ALL of the instruction before you start.... If you tell me your build number (should end in XWJVH or above) I can post all the links
  20. There are LOADS of sites! Because the Premier League is watched around the world, you can find a feed of practically EVERY game. I may have watched a few QPR matches, that way, this season.....although it hasn't made good viewing!!! Iraqgoals used to be a good one, and they generally have english commentators and summarisers....which is always good for a "Where are they now" spot!
  21. It would be a continuous count for a two week period. From what I can see in Message Tracking, that would involve me counting the mails individually..... There must be an easier way? Scripting would be fine, if the server wasn't mission critical! So I'm a bit reticent to run something that I'm not sure of the background of! :dontwantthesack:
  22. I've had a couple of Volvos, and always felt more like I was middle-aged than a road owner!!! The S40 is a decent car....and I think cars are more about how YOU drive them, than how other people do! Not ALL BMW drivers are road hogs, and not all Porsche drivers are bankers......Oooopps! Slip of the finger in that last sentence....I'll leave you to decide what I mean! I've always felt that if I drive a car that is seen in a certain light (i.e. Ford Capri.... Boy-Racer....Idiot! Saab....old fogey....staid...Unexciting!) I try to drive to improve the impression! Let people out....don't overtake in silly places....Leave plenty of room!
  23. Morning all, Just a quickie... Is there a way to put a count in place for the number of internal mails that go through Exchange? I've had a bit of a look, and can find a powershell script, but as I'm a newb with scripting, I'm not sure I want to take that on! Any ideas would be gratefully received!
  24. Me and the Fiance are starting to look at moving, and buying a house together..... I wanted the house that's for sale here.... 3 bedroom detached house for sale in Titty Ho, Raunds, Wellingborough, NN9 Unfortunately, my fiance thinks it's too far away for kids school and work in Wellingborough......
  25. Have just re-installed Quadrant Benchmark and the score? Same as a Samsung Nexus..... I like that a LOT!!!
