  1. I'll have to have a look at home.... Though the more I think about it....it was probably CS:Source! Sorry!
  2. I'm not sure about that! CS:Beta has been available for months??? I've been playing it for 6 months, at least!
  3. This is very true..... Even now I like to log on every few weeks for a CS battle...None of the enjoyment has waned...only the time to do it has!
  4. I left my cat at the Schrodingers Cattery.... A week later I phoned up and said "Is my cat ok?" They replied "Well.....Yes...and No!"
  5. Many congratulations to you and your family!
  6. Thanks Toby.....will give that a try and see how it goes.
  7. Morning Glennda, The OS is Server 2003, SBS, SP2, and you're right, I'm on about Exchange! Apologies for not making that clear.....at all!! I have restarted the Exchange Info Service, to see whether that will have any effect....
  8. Morning all, As some will know, I started a new job last month. Well, the company has bought Symantec 12.5 and I have installed it and all seems fine. However, when I do differential backups, it fails for the circular logging reason. This SHOULD be solved by unticking the box in the storage group properties. Last night, the backup failed again, and still says it's due to circular logging. I came in this morning to check, and it is still unticked. Is there anything else I should be looking for? The differential is being run again, as I type, so I can see what the outcome will be in "real-time"!
  9. Congrats Neph! Always nice to get back into work, ain't it? Good luck with the landscaping, and enjoy the outside!
  10. I would imagine that he was shooting into the ground for safety sake.... You don't wanna shoot a laptop, and find out 5 mins later that the bullet lodged itself in the forehead of your neighbour! Anyway....having a 15 year old step-daughter, I thought I would post this from twitter to my facebook account......!!!
  11. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/jokes-interweb-things/90023-government-rejects-pardon-request-alan-turing.html Pretty lively discussion on the subject, yesterday.....
  12. But he was pardoned because of a miscarriage of justice....in that the original Judge failed to direct the jury properly! Thus, he was neither innocent, nor guilty! As the last line says "If Bentley had been alive in July 1998 or convicted of the offence, it would have been possible for him to face a retrial." This is NOT the same as being convicted of a crime where the law is subsequently repealed, as in Turing's case! And, YES! We finally agree on something....the Law IS an 'ass'!!
  13. Ahhhh...The old "Let Him Ave It" argument! This is, as I explained in my earlier post, a miscarriage of justice. Source: Derek Bentley case - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  14. Were it so easy to roll back the years and change laws.... However, those WERE the laws of the time and, as unjust as it now appears to us, those were the criteria against which he was convicted. The posthumous pardons for "cowardice" are better explained elsewhere, than I can do justice here! I respect your opinion, and your right to have that opinion, and hope you are enjoying this discussion as much as I. (Still think you're wrong though....nar, nar, ne, nar, nar!!!!! )
  15. These would have been judged and convicted under military law, during operations, and doesn't really bear comparison. http://www.bullyonline.org/stress/ww1.htm It has since been accepted that PTSD would have played a big part in those "cowardice" claims. Homosexuality is not an illness. The pardon from Gordon Brown was an admittance that the punishment WAS wrong.
  16. In many places, that is still the case! It is a very sorry tale, as without the conviction he may have gone on to do even more brilliant work. Sadly, it seems as if it was the catalyst for his suicide. Now THAT is probably why the former PM apologised.
  17. This is true. The conviction was CORRECT, in law, at the time. We cannot go back and pardon people who have been convicted of a law that has been repealed.
  18. I believe it should go down against her as the named driver.... The accident was hers (in your car) so that is all that matters!
  19. I think that just about covers it. It has nothing to do with the government, and everything to do with the law! That really should be the end of it.
  20. Lush is still in heavy use in Northants as well.....
  21. Not entirely true! The circle has 1 side....The "outside" of the circle, in the same way that a triangle would have 3, and a square would have 4! A sphere could have only 1 side but an infinite amount of "faces". A cube would only have 6 "faces" At least, that is my understanding of the whole thing!
  22. Surely a sphere has an infinite amount of sides, but a circle only has one???
  23. Was trying to see what was funny.... Then a light bulb went off in my head.....
  24. I can't believe anyone is worried about turning thirty! I'm 12 years away from that....on the wrong side....and have never worried about my age! Age is just a number, and can bear no relation to how you act! Enjoy your 30's cos by the time you reach 42, you'll be pining for those last days of 29!!!
