Because they don't want to come straight out and say "The whole shebang is going down, and we'll be lucky to last 18 months" because that will destroy what little morale there is in the company. Anyone who is owed money by Comet will be getting very itchy about the takeover because they will know that Comet, as an ongoing concern, is unlikely to get past next Xmas...or, perhaps, this Xmas!

Having looked through all 3 of those sites, I find most of what they say to be puerile nonsense! "Why do apps..." had the speedtest app as an example.....Well, mine looks just the same as the Apple version. If you don't bother updating your apps, then you WILL fall behind! "gripes from...." goes on to talk about the icons being from Gingerbread or Froyo.....As if anyone REALLY cares about the notification icons???? "fuglyandroid".... I'm guessing this is a "Look how rubbish I can make my screen"....but why is that fugly? One man's meat, etc etc etc! That doesn't mean that Android is ugly, per se, but that some users can make their phones LOOK ugly. It makes no sense! And...................Breathe!!!

Hi Torrevez, My college has used Roche Audio/Visual for a lot of Smartboard installations. Despite these being Ultra Short Throw, we did have one installation that required a ceiling mount and different projector. They handled the job very very well, and I have nothing but praise for their team of engineers. If you want to DM me, I can provide contact details.

This is an extremely good question! Since moving into the smartphone side of phones, I've had an LG GT540, and now a Galaxy S. I accept the limitations that both have/had, and get on with life. iPhone owners, however, can't seem to let it lie, if you point out anything about the phone. As explained on other threads, my brother was exactly the same, and I used to rib him mercilessly! (Just for the sport!!) Since getting fed up with iPhone, and moving to HTC Sensation, he is a changed man!

But look at your post count! I dare say that if you came on, one day, and asked for a google+ or unthink, or any other invite, you'd get one. This would probably be because people can see you have a history....Whether you are quiet on here or not, you've made the effort since joining to get involved, in whatever way you've felt necessary! But, Neph's point is the 0 post, joined today people, who probably have little or nothing to do with Education or Technology, but just want an invite, from the first place they come across on google.

Morning all..... As some of you are followers of mine on twitter, I have a small request to make.... Since last sunday's QPR v Chelsea match, there has been an investigation into racial slurs against Anton Ferdinand, by John Terry. This morning, a Chelsea supporter has tweeted an extremely racially abuse message at Anton and his brother Rio. Regardless of what you think to football, or the two players named, I would ask anyone that follows me to find the tweet where I've referenced it to @twitter and RT it. Racial abuse is unacceptable, whether during a match (Unproven) or on social media. The tweet says the following... @twitter Can you please suspend the account of the racist @analia_lampard. Please take a look at her timeline, with ref to @anton_ferdinand Many thanks for those that can. Andy/Mango

I'm NOT trying to create an argument about this. I also think we should NOT blast new members, but Neph has a really good point. I agree that we should be encouraging new members.....as you're right....we've ALL been there, and all been treated like part of the family. But, what is the answer? *Edit* Turns out that Grumbledook HAS the answer!!!

Much as I understand your point, I'm happy to concede that I am wrong, if you can show any of these "new" members have actually stayed, after getting what they want! I think that Neph has made a really valid point, that can also provoke discussion and debate!

I'll give rep for that! We're a community, and a pretty tight-nit one judging by the coming on my End of an Era thread. To see people turn up, and with 1 post to their name, start begging for invites really gets up my nose too! I DID think I was the only one, so thanks Neph for bringing this up. (It's not like these "new" members ever stick around for long....or am I wrong?) I do understand that, for the community to evolve, we have to make new members welcome, but if they're only here for one thing....????

One of the messages I had from my brother, last night, was.... You do know that if you take the ING and BO out of Wellingborough, that pretty much sums it up??? LOL!!!
