Good morning all, Having an issue with documents crashing when hyperlinking to a PDF either local or on a network share. The version of adobe reader is 10.0.0 and office 2010 has service pack and all updates installed. If I press control alt delete to try and stop the program I get "microsoft excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action excel 2010" this happens in all programs not just excel. Then the PDF decides to load. I was told it was working fine a few weeks ago so I am stuck as to what could have caused this sudden change. Has anyone else experience something similar and can help me out at all? Thanks in advance, Jonny

Our school is gradually buying the odd IPAD for the SLT. I showed them splashtop the app they can use to control their own windows based computer in the office! They love it! So what is the point? A laptop or a cheaper windows tablet would surly be of more use to them. Docs2go is a pain as you constantly have to re sync, and it doesn't have all the features that office 2010 has, which teachers don't seem to grasp.

What about youtube? the only thing I can see different is the flash version, we always keep the machines up to date.

got any tutor control software? ab tutor blocks usb devices. Also as mentioned USBDLM is good. we also have sophos anti virus which has a device block feature.

Is anybody else using this exam software in school? Having many problems with the software just stopping when you go to file and print within the software. Hangs with a flash error stating that it may cause things to stop working if this part of the script is stopped do you want to stop it? yes or no? pressing yes stops all interactive buttons from working for navigation, so having to get the students to print screen answers into a word documents and print. Then re open the software once they have evidence. Now the exam software loads at the top and says flash player 10, but all machines have flash player 11 obviously to make things like you tube and iplayer work. Do you think that the exam software just doesn't like the newer flash? annoying!

yeah that was my next suggestion, check for department access codes, but then again would it not prompt for a code when you go to print?

what our school do is let users put their own accounts on the ipads (staff user them at home too) and if they need school apps we send them as a gift through itunes. Also if you go to ebuyer they are down to £319.99 from £399.99 like everywhere else. if were were just using them in school then we would set up one account for the school and then whenever we buy an app it goes to all the ipads automatically.

can you remote into the printer through IP address in a web browser?, I've seen that issue twice, one is with out print management software been set to restricted, and also when you go into the printer on the computers the IP address was set wrong when I did the IP changeover in the summer.

Run mem test looking around it seems to be a faulty ram stick. Also try run the installation from a memory stick. Make a bootable one with the program "wintoflash" . Might rule out a problem with your optical drive.

ahh forget that we did get the email but we don't have it integrated into our SIMS.

Hmmm I didn't get this E-mail from them and they manage our Moodle server. We were looking at building up our own but with little experience in this area I can see it been a pain in the butt.
