  1. Thanks everyone we are going to have a trial of Messenger as it looks like it can do 99% of what we require.
  2. Thanks that's great. Might have to book a demo of the PS one. Do you know what sort of ballpark figure we are talking about for their product? Cheers
  3. Good Morning all, We are looking at buying into a system where we can easily email a parent or groups or parents with newsletters, general letters etc with email addressees stored in Sims. We have been using an antiquated spreadsheet and mail merging but it has led to a number of issues with wrong emails being sent etc. Does anyone use a piece of software that can simply do what we are after and that works well? Ideally I'd like something that can log the emails and have different levels of authorisation i.e only the main office can send to whole year groups etc. I'm not really after an app as I don't want something else to look after and parents complain about not being able to login etc but if it has this element as well we could always use it in the future. Thanks very much Cheers
  4. Yea its fair enough but if we were considering buying it and I rung up and heard welcome to the O2 messaging service it doesn't come across very professional for what is after all a pretty big company.
  5. Has Anyone got through to Clickview recently? I tried phoning 0333 207 6595 as we have had no service for over two hours now and it got answered by O2 messaging voice mail! For a company this size they seem to have no UK presence anymore? The last time I spoke to someone at support he was in Sydney and it was 10pm his time!
  6. All I can find is this page https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/active-directory-saas-access-panel-introduction but no help on how to add or remove applications. O how I love Microsoft's web of confusion. Anyone customised this at all?
  7. Thats amazing the myapps bit was what I was after I will have to look into customising this now. Cheers
  8. Thanks @FN-GM I never knew about https://outlook.com/schooldomain.com are there any other ones that just get you the portal for users that don't have a mailbox do you know? Cheers
  9. @CAWJames It might be worth looking into DataCore https://datacore.co.uk/ You don't have to spend the earth getting a two node Hyper-V cluster and we looked into it with a company called M-Tech Systems. https://www.mtechsystems.co.uk/ Quite a few schools look like they use DataCore according to their page. M-Tech said they could even supply it using refurbished Dell servers to reduce the price. Cheers
  10. We have had Frog now for quite some years and a few years ago we stopped the maintenance as we have moved across to Moodle as our primary VLE. Of course there are still some departments that insist on using Frog so it needs to be live but the server is ageing and we have no real access since they stopped looking after it for us. My main question is has anyone attempted to virtualise it themselves? Normally with Windows I would use disk2vhd or similar to convert but with Linux I am left using something like DD https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprise_admin/2010/05/13/linux-p2v-with-dd-and-vhdtool-easy-and-cheap/ Thats not where I see the problems I guess the biggest issue I see is getting into the console and setting the new interfaces up. We use Hyper-V here so any pointers in doing so would be great. Cheers
  11. Thanks it seems better now. According to the librarians it was completely down for around 30 minutes then very slow for around 20 minutes and now back to "normal" As you say it would be useful to log these on the status page so end users can make an informed decision before moving to hosted for the so called improved reliability of the system.
  12. @MLS our librarians are complaining our MLS website is very slow this lunch time and is occasionally timing out or coming up with "Server Error In "/" application" runtime error I have checked on Micro Librarian Systems Ltd Status and there are no known errors can you confirm if you are having issues at your end? Thanks
  13. The Stone Integrums look nice on paper but my main concerns are around the large 7200RPM HDD drives that are built into most Stone Integrums and if they are as large as 8TB how many can fail as well as the rebuild times on such as big drive. Can anyone help put my mind at rest with this?
  14. @limawhiskey we are in the same position now as you were back in March. Have you decided what solution you are going for yet or made any further advances in the project?
  15. Wow I wasn't expecting this many Schools to be having this problem as I was made to feel like we were the only School to have an issue so I am feeling very relieved now. If anyone has any resolution please let me know and I will do the same.
  16. This is almost identical to the experience we have had. I have tried everything they have advised and nothing has made any difference. They are putting it down to "environmental" factors at our end!
  17. This is exactly the same for us. I have followed pages and pages of settings and exceptions. I mean how many webpages have you had to setup nowadays to bypass antivirus this is simple unheard of as far as I'm concerned its madness. Hay I have even tried it on a computer with no antivirus and it makes no difference just look at the CPU usage it must be badly coded. I have tried it on my home computer with fibre broadband and its the same sometimes okay but often very slow and that's not even using circulate to issue/return books. I'm just glad I've found other people with similar issues so when they tell me its environmental I can say yes your environment! Thanks everyone so far for your comments and keep me updated to how you get on. I also will be at the MLS meeting so I look forward to asking them then also. Cheers
  18. Thanks for the reply. Yes I got the feeling they would announce this soon when speaking to their support during our migration to the hosted version I asked when would we have received it onsite if we did not move and they said we are not telling people officially but most likely never. They basically want the guaranteed revenue and control of hosted but then when things go slow they put it down to proxy settings or internet connections or their favourite "environmental" factors. Not looked at Oliver but I will be soon by the looks of it, but do let me know what the account manager says. Cheers
  19. Thanks very much for this info, please do let me know when you find out what you are moving to and if its any better :-)
  20. We have recently moved from onsite Eclipse which was always fine using the old Silverlight interface. Never really had a problem with it but sales convinced our Liberians to move across as the new version is HTML5 and is wonderful and does so much more etc. etc. Anyway we have moved across and have had nothing but problems since. The speed of the HTML5 interface is so much slower than Silverlight uses a lot of CPU (more than watching a HD video on YouTube) We have a 1Gbps internet connection so our internet is nice and nippy, we have put every exclusion possible so Eclipse does not touch our proxy and goes straight out to the internet but the problems persist. I was wondering how many people are using the hosted Eclipse with the HTML5 interface and if so are you happy with the speed and general functionality? Thanks very much
  21. Hi @sonofsanta now that we are almost a year in to your printer replacement projector I was wondering how it is going , any gotchas etc of this project? Cheers
  22. Thanks but we are not using ADFS/SAML we are using the new Azure AD which has built in single sign in without the need for ADFS/SAML.
  23. Yes no problem. My code isn't great but it works 99% of the time. Feel free to change and re-write it and share it. Its written using AutoIt and then I compiled it to and EXE which then runs as a logon script for Students. I could share the EXE but don't want anyone thinking its dodgy so I'll just start with the code: #comments-start Program created to automatically enter email address into Office365 login page #comments-end ; Start the main loop. Opt("TrayIconHide", 1) Do ; Wait until the logon window shows itself... WinWaitActive("Sign in to your account - Internet Explorer") ; Add a little delay to avoid lag in accessing the website. Sleep(1000) ; Send the current logged on username and email domain Send(@UserName) Send("@enter.yourdomainhere") Send("{Tab}") ; Wait for the user to finish entering their password and then loop. Sleep(5000) WinWaitClose("Sign in to your account - Internet Explorer") ; Sleep again and then loop to beginning to avoid double pasting etc. Sleep(10000) ; End of the main loop. ; Exit the loop using 'ExitLoop' command. Until False To be fair I might not even need the wait for password bit as thats automatic now but it seems to work just fine still. Cheers
  24. I've installed the new version of Azure and can confirm it works the same for me in terms of users have to enter their email address and not the password. I have an autoit script that I run on login which automatically fills out the email address box which helps. If you interested let me know and I'll post it here. Cheers
  25. Thanks I'd love to do this but on the version of Impero I am on the power reports are a known bug and are broken. What version of Impero are you on and do they still work? Thanks
