At the moment the registers are printed for forms only and not per class. This is taken twice a day. On one day the pupils pupils finish an hour earlier so the lessons are all different and there is no form time. Is it possible to have a sheet for Wednesday with five wednesdays on it for the first period and the period after dinner. These should then be fed through the OMR in the normal manner. So 4 out of 5 days would be normal form lists and one day would be a class list. We are using the normal attendance module in SIMs which I am not too familiar with. tia Chris

I have a 3600 and it is doing my head in. Will print some documents but PDF or publisher it just doesnt translate properly and spews forth hundreds of pages of crap. I am going to try some of the 2600 work arounds but at the moment I am thoroughly unimpressed

It's a great tool. It helps get everyone setup and into their classes for easy selection in rapido time

I just stick my knackered ones on the column drill in tech and put a few holes in em. Doesnt take long at all.

You can assign an ip address to a MAC address using the ARP command. The console port is usually the best be though.

There has been recent topics about this printer. People were getting it fixed by using a normal TCP/IP port (not the HP one) and disabling Bidirectional in the properties.

You only want it for servers, switches etc else you will be receving warning every 5 seconds.

I had trouble using the delegation wizard it wouldnt let the staff I delegated to change the passwords. I ended up setting the permissions manually on the users. it was something like there were 2 different setting such and change password and reset password.

Something from the HP Procurve range should suit you.

Your power supply is broken. It wont charge the battery and it wont run it when plugged in.

I am sure something from the Netgear range would suffice. It would be good to have gig between the switches or if you have a lot of these switches one gig switch to be the core.

The newer versions are easy. They even take care of the Web server config. If you know how to install from source you can have it installed in 10 mins. There are also native packages as well which arent quite upto date.

Thats just for the normal tools you will also need the exchange tools as highlighted by an earlier post. You can then get a version of ADUC with the exchange stuff in it.

Search for terms such as Karoshi and the Cutter project.

Another great app from WiseSoft I have a script that does the same but this will be quicker for me to use incase I need to make changes.

I always use a wired connection unless it just is not practicle. It saves a lot of problems.

Could you quickly describe which modules you use and roughly what you do to produce the letters thanks.

Our current system of doing commendation letters and behavioural (sp?) concern letters is very much a paper based system and has to be sorted by several different people. What kind of system are other people using for this and is there something in SIMs we probably arent using that can help with this? tia Chris

You can set classes on a computer using ipconfig /setclassid . Which you can work as you desired so I assume you can set something on the phones and set the DHCP server accordingly.

It can be a big adjustment working in schools I am afraid and the schools are very aware of this, hence your previous experiences.
