  1. This is helpful. Any other comments? Alex
  2. Hi I am trying to get opinions and advise as to whether an ITQ/ECDL qualification is of any relevance or use to the roll of an IT/Network manager? If it isn't relevant what qualification is? Also how do you post a poll up? Thanks Alex
  3. I thought you might like the tower unit. Just out of the box and kindly supplied by none other than SCLonline!! Nice spec and all at at a reasonable price. Just got to set them all up now. Might have another order for you soon, watch this space. Alex
  4. Hi This is my little domain. Also I have a large desk and it goes up and down automatically when you press the right buttons!!! I also have a little room of the side that is the server room and houses all the noisy stuff. Alex
  5. Yep, of and on here too!! Alex
  6. I think that is Dos Box that you are talking about. Do you mean the one infront or nehind??? :D
  7. Only three more callers to go to get the mug!!!!
  8. Good morning. I don't think the intelligence of the two in question is that low. They have learnt how to milk the system, as most do, and they can get themselves dressed, go to the shops, catch a bus etc etc. Now if they were not able to femd for themselves for whatever reason, well hell yeah, support them as much as they need. They do have life set skills but choose to use them to do nothing of worth. Intrestingly enough there was a program on BBC, Skint, which in my opinion, shows the type of people who do need a helping hand, as they are trying to progress. They have had problems, still make mistakes, but there outlook is positive despite tradegys and knockbacks. BBC iPlayer - Skint: Debt Special have a look. Alex
  9. Just my opinion. Alex
  10. Unemployment does have its pros and cons, for a start you can't get made redundant if you are unemployed, which is a plus and being unemployed and getting into a rut can be very undermining. I am sympathetic to those that are ill, either mentally or physically or have a similar mitigating dispossision, BUT in my experience a vast majority are unmotivated, disintrested and detached from real life. They are blithly unaware that it is those that work that provide for them and in a lot of cases they do not give a damn. I hear the arguments and read the comments and most of them do not hold water. Take for example the case that they live in a high unemployment area or there are not any jobs for them. Well correct me if I am wrong bot about a millioon jobs over the past few years have been filled with eastern europeans, and other ethinic workers who in a lot of cases do live in 'REAL' poverty and that is what motivates them to get off thier arses and do something about it. The main problem is that these people who leach of the state have no reason to get a job, so why bother when the likes of you and me pay our taxes etc which allows them to do NOTHING. I was brought up in a house with four brothers in one bedroom, two sisters in the other and mum and dad in the other, have gone through two recessions, high unemployment, high intrest rates, have been very very ill on a number of ocassions which has left me with permanent disabilities, and the last time I got a job I moved 170 miles But guess what, I have brought up two children and provided for them and they are now at University. So sorry, I have no sympathy with those that are fit and able that leach of society because they can, and then they moan about it. Most do not have a clue about real hardship. I do suspect though that things may get pretty tough in the next year or so???? Alex
  11. What a total waste of space some people are. My take home pay from the council is very near £1000 a month, take all my cost of living expanses from that and I would have less in my pocket than they have. When will the government wake up??? Alex
  12. I've noted the points you have made, and yes I have heard about the groin burn etc :-) It just seems strange that there is not much on laptop H&S on the government H&S site nor on out County Council site :-( So it looks like just using the normal workstation set up checklist? Alex
  13. Hi I was just wondering if any of you carry out health and safety for laptops and portable IT equipment? If so do any of you have links to any info on how to carry this out as my school want me to produce a booklet to give to users on how to use a laptop safely? Any help appreciated. thanks Alex
  14. Well mine came from two sources, the first being my first name and the second being my second name. It originally came from my birth certificate though. As you would imagine it did take some time for me to come up with the user name, although in recent years I have started using italex. Alex
  15. Hi It's great to have won, and i would like to thank my family and friends who have supported me through the season. At times it got very difficult and I nearly threw it all away, but a dug deep and kept my focus. Now that's out of the way, what did I win? :D Alex
