Looking at other examples on the wiki Nagios it looks like the arguements are in KB.

Go to the forums on MSFN - Where People Go To Know and get reading. Basically you need to create create a super install disk for XP. Things you will need to use are Nlite BTS Driver Packs Identify groups of machines that are the same and Install one of each of these types. Then clone to the others. I have had success recently using drive image XML with a BartPE Disc and and external hard drive. I use this method for small one of batches at the mo while I convert from RIS to WDS. The keep the drivers option on the driver packs may cut down on the images you will have to create. You will of course need to sysprep. Theres an example file in the WDS thread.

I would deffo stick with a TomTom or a Garmin rather than a cheap alternative.

You can get alternate rail sets for Dell servers. I have a few Dell servers and I have 2 sets of rails for each now.

I am afraid they can be funny about passports that have nearly expired in the US. My friend had to renew theirs before they went a few years ago. You need to speak to someone to see how the land lies now definately

I just bought a rack from First Technologies. It is just a basic rack with no sides or door which is fine as it is in it's own room and the servers get plenty of ventilation afaik it was less than £200.

Hmm strange. I never use hard coded paths usually though and build mine up from constants set at the top even for a few lines like that. Just habit I suppose as scripts have a tendancy to expand.

Try things like this on the server IPconfig /registerdns and on the client you are trying from make sure ipconfig /flushdns and also make sure the MX records have updated as well.

If in doubt get it replaced the warranty service is usually pretty quick.

I am going to be tackling this soon. Thanks for the info everyone it should make it a lot less painful for me . I never liked RIPREP images as they seemed easy to mess up I just use the normal risetup with lots of driver packs and install on first auto logon for awkward stuff as well as lots of custom scripts. I will be hopefully looking forward to a speed increase on deployment now though.

Have a search theres a few threads about it. I would suggest using Debian or Ubuntu.

Just make them the author or whatever the title is of the page.

You can make anything a screen saver like an exe or something. You just have to rename the extension to .scr I think. Something along those lines anyway.

Lancaster Uni do it as well.

To be fair the original prices were as good as other suppliers prices but he came straight in with them. They just were not attractive enough for me to change supplier until they were revised. At the end of the day they are sales people there to make money so they are going to try and sell it for a markup thats worth their while. So in short the original prices were good but with a little more negotiation they were excellent

This is probably the first time I have recommended and supplier but I felt I had to pass this on: I have just had a lot of kit of these people and their prices have been very good (SAN, PCs, Laptops). Their prices usually beat other peoples easily. This is due to the bulk purchasing they do on HP deals. I have had several suppliers spit their dummies out complaining about their low pricing but everything is above board and they are very honest about how they they achieve their pricing. They used to just supply to other resellers but are now selling direct to some customers. The only thing their not too good on is printers. If you have a spec in mind and are not rigidly set on a particular model then you will find the pricing very good. I have all the classic games on my Arcade machine in the garage. I dont play on it for ages then will play it for hours on end.

You usually only get that when they are trying to access from more than one machine or they have swopped machines and it hasnt timed out for the old machine yet.

I have also heard about the CCNA stuff done at colleges. They fail the exam one day then take it again (the exact same one!) on another day after looking up the answers they were not sure about.

Thought we were done for these this year but we will be doing some on results day maybe. So server install goes ok then I need a manual update on each machine? Hmm think I will rebuild the machines and install fresh just to be on the safe side.
