  3. There's a program called padmin in a share on the server. They will need access to that then I think its a case of ntfs on the db. There should be a pdf on the share explaining it all.

  6. I'd go for testout rather than cbt in terms of cost. Testout is interactive , cheaper and an outright purchase.

  9. The content of the exam does get updated , especially after a minor release sp . The book is super dry, test out or cbt nuggets will be more enjoyable but you really need to do 2 of them to have a decent knowledge.
  10. testout... contact them and ask for faculty discount, each course will be about £50 rather than usual costs. CBT nuggets...Worthwhile and widely available. Ms press books... Ebay, Ebooks. Dry but contain pertinent facts that will come up in the exam. Sit the student exams, if your faculty your entitled too, they're about £50.
  11. What are the processor, ram , disk access and network connections reading like in perf manager?
  12. have a look in the event log to see if theres a driver causing the issue. If it helps we see this on hp10**'s and have several 6125's that are fine.

  15. I long for the day when Apple releases the Iteacher , a futuristic teacherbot that interfaces with a whole range of shiny to edumcate the kids. Out of interest, the teachers that fancy an Ipad or 30, How many of them have given detail of how it would be used? When we asked ours it turned out they woudln't use it for teaching, it was all for admin work ( and ebay, autotrader , iplayer and various other websites teachers use during working hours)
  16. Chances are the computer is showing signs of age. Programs Like that are great for occasional use but over a long period can cause harm. Best bet is to reinstall from scratch and be a little more selective about which software you install

I've been asked to look at the syllabus and see if there's anything on it we could change, We don't teach to national curriculum so I was wondering if any of our IT teachers could share which syllabus they use, why they use that one and possibly point me in the direction of its contents!.   20. Unfortauntely it's quite difficult to find ready made packages. If you use sites like Home | ITNinja they will help you with switches to silently install software. It looks like wininstall is still to me though...

  24. Someone please help me here before I throw my toys right out of the pram. We need to take part in a VC with a third party who have provided us with an ISDN number to dial. Colleague has looked at our ISDN line and decided that it doesn't work and he wont investigate further. How can I connect upto an ISDN VC without an ISDN. Thanks in advance!
