Look for any sort of vnc in program files or as a service. It's possible they are installing , connecting and uninstalling. Also worth checking the admin accounts on the pc.

New moodle install really slow?

What is the disk usage like? -
I haven't. I've transplanted from an install on one computer to another. It doesn't have any dependencies , if the files are in that location it will work.

We converted all our old cameras from coax to ip and built a server using blue iris, Beauty being you can add network ip cams and even usb easily enough. our server runs 8 cameras and maxed out a dual core processor but is fine on a quad core. You could set up server smaller servers and have then archive them to an a share after a day or so.

Set it up on 1 server so it writes to the event logs, attach an event to the "ups on battery" event and use psshutdown to set the other servers to shutdown in say 60 seconds, then find the "ups no longer on battery" command and set that to abort the last command

100mbps isn't all that fast, get it upto a gig connection or even team the connection. It'll make all the difference.
-
How fast is the network speed? What is the slowest part of the network connection?
-
DPM will do all of that and possibly quite cheaply as well if you have a VLA.

are there any other volumes on the disk?

Has anyone set up hyper-v 2012 cluster?
strawberry replied to nicholab's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
Yes ! I have done. Smooth and steady! -
Other problem you will face is the student's reaction to not being able to logon... 1. They will smash the room to bits in boredom or frustration or just because they're horrible 2. They will use not being able to logon as an excuse for everything. Better to just keep them out of the room if they're not going to be able to logon anyway!.

Multipoint graphics issue
strawberry replied to strawberry's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
Tried it in both modes. Device manager shows one card, Screen resolution (right click on desktop) shows one screen, Actual display is split accross the 2 monitors I have plugged in. -
I've installed a mdt xt graphics card which installed as a geforce 210 . It only shows one large logical screen rather than 4 , which scuppers me for multipoint!. Any ideas?

Process for moving staff from Windows XP to Windows 7
strawberry replied to penfold's topic in Windows 7
You could virtualise each machine and save it some where safe and fire it up if you need to later. Worse comes to worse they can then access it via rdp whilst you sort out the problem. -
News | DriverPacks.net Useful for MDT but might do what you want too.

No, but I am awaiting equipment! -
gx270's here. Fine as thin clients, decent enough with w7 without AV.

Seconded. -
Interesting move, think it shows that he cares less about the performance of the car and more about the focus on him. At Mclaren they have a good car but it's not designed for him and he doens't get all his way ( though he does most) . He'll be the number 1 at Mercedes.

Sync toy or just an old fashioned MS briefcase would do it.

The sync icon in the notification bar may have somehting to do with it
