Or servers.. In the farm . If I use the wap server will that solve my issue?
-
Ah.. Is that my issue?? Going straight to my adfs server..
-
So I have adfs working internally perfectly fine using smart links. When a use tries this externally they enter their email address and get a login prompt auth box rather than the adfs customised landing page. If this is the case what's the point in staying it? Surely there is something I am missing here. Ideally I would like them to enter their email and then be redirected to our adfs page . What am I missing? This happens in all Browsers. Thanks Liam

not that big to be honest. small secondary school with about 600 users.. of them only about 100 use the services. Is it easy enough to do?

Hi all, I am looking at using adfs and wondered what setup you guys have? MS recommend a 4 server setup but is that really what you have all done? with a couple of servers in a farm do? SOme people suggested just one in a Virtual envirnment with a replica I currently use same sign on/unified sign on using DIRSync so i disable password sync or do i leave this and it will become a fallback if adfs fails? Any help would be appreciated, Liam

Get rid of stubpath entries in the registry! Just back them up first of course. Makes a massive difference. We login in 4 seconds

I'm considering becoming a reservist and just wanted to know if anyone could share any experiences / information Thanks

Lol, sounds like it's not just me then.. I'll have to suggest some of these idea when we return after Easter. What are your emails about though? So and so is missing have you seen them? Joe blogs is truanting , I have a villa in Spain does anyone want to rent it? Isolation?

Sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find anything when I looked. All staff emails are beginning to really annoy me if I'm honest. I understand the need sometimes for certain people but with groups for everything I'm wondering if we should think about putting restrictions in place. Just wondering what you all do? It's got to a point whereby I pretty much put a rule in place.. If recipient is all staff then delete.. I am thinking about the possibility of just allowing a number of people like slt and maybe a couple of other teams. Any suggestions would be great. I think this would then make my emails that are really important stand half a chance of being read.

Hm I'm confident I could get the tills to the position they are at now but with the hard wee and os upgrade. Food for thought there.. No pun intended
-
I asked them earlier and was informed support would not be covered. But that said, we only have software support anyway. We relaxed the kitchen computer with one of ours though and that's supported. Surely it's just the same. I'll double check tomorrow. With budgets tight, every little helps
-
I might look into that then? Was it simple enough and do they still support it?
-
Interesting.. I made that same call today and i am waiting for some prices now. I to anticipate this being substantial though so i need to carefully consider my options.. The two i have are New Tills, or upgrade current tosh setup. I could probably do it myself in all fairness but its interesting to read what other have done.

You can Mrbios Thats how mine are done now PM me if you need anymore help

Yes it is. In the group in impero you can select the aup you want. But on the server you need to create the aup first. I have created one for staff and students here. Works well
-
Yes I sort of share that of bobsmith. We have never had an incident yet but I have got this on my agenda for the next safe guarding meeting.
-
Just wondering what you do for this? Is there any red tape to giving them their own account to get some experience of using an mis system? Have you created a custom group for them with limited permissions? Thanks Liam
-
Iv tried it. Nothing works. If I knew where to installation files where I'd just deploy it manually for the one user. I suspect they won't be in a format for me to do that though
-
I'm struggling here. It appears in solus as a target but will not deploy. Is there a way to force a deploy again or do I need to completely the uninstall and install agent etc? Thanks Liam
-
I would say avoid it! It's hard enough as an additional storage space.

May be of some use to you if you have apps on network shares like we do.. First Shortcut to full unc path must be added to c:\users\public\public desktop of a remote app session server e.g \\domain\share$\test\test.exe Open Powershell as admin New-RDRemoteApp -CollectionName "RA Servers" -DisplayName "Displaynameofapp" -FilePath "uncpath" If you have more than one remote app server maybe use DFS to replicate the shortcut.

this is a little bizarre. I am trying to promote the use in school at present and if im honest its becoming more trouble than its worth.. Ok it works for me here on my home laptop using the app.. but this doesnt apply to the user whos in technology trying to download the photos hes just taken on his phone and uploaded to onedrive. Its bizarre.. i really do not see the reasoning behind this.. are they trying to promote us having the app? Yet, im telling users that they dont need to use outlook because the web version as good.. Its like im contradicting myself. Argh.... frustrating.. Maybe i need a third party utility of something!! Shouldn't need to though hey!

I would like to give staff the ability to run a script that automatically adds the remote app feed url and adds the apps to their start menu. 1. How do you guys achieve this - or do you just send them to the gateway landing page 2. Is this even possible? it used to be in 2008. I just went to remote desktop manager and created config file. Thanks in advance. Liam

I use impero. Little overkill.. Why not just use a scheduled task . It's free. Get it to launch something for 5 seconds and close it with a script
