We are having lots of meetings with them about it at the moment. Clubs does just about work, although there are some issues with it that desperately need improving. I think our biggest issue with the care clubs system is that if a parent books but doesn't pay, (paying by childcare voucher for example) they think they have booked, we can see that they have booked but not paid, but they don't appear on the register for the club until payment has been made. Obviously this can result in children going missing.

Don't do it! The hosted one was awful and we migrated away after suffering for a couple of years to a company called Libresoft who have been brilliant. They may be able to do a migration from that database, not sure if they would be able to do it without login details though.

New DoA Aruba switch warranty replaced with refurb
steveg replied to dgsmith's topic in Wired Networks
DOA I would normally send back to the supplier, not claim under warranty. You ordered a switch, the supplier didn't deliver you a working switch. Most suppliers if you inform them in the first few days happily take them back. -
Data breach yes/no? Email addresses
steveg replied to gpjt's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
Our DPO at the local authority did it once, when sending out the DPO newsletter to all schools! -
If you turn the router off can you make internal calls on the cordless phones without interference? Can you turn the 2.4ghz radio off on the router? Some cordless phones use this frequency.

Has anyone tried downloading an iso this week? I tried on Tuesday and again today and it is estimating times of 10 - 18 hours. Left Tuesdays running and it failed at 700mb. We have a 100 meg internet connection with no other issues.

Mine would never update from the controller until I went to settings, system settings, maintenance, device firmware cache and downloaded it there. Once it is downloaded to the controller (which worked fine through our filtering) I could update all the aps from the controller.

Data Collection for new pupils
steveg replied to justjay's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
We did this last year using Microsoft Forms, into an excel spreadsheet. Admin team ended up manually pasting into sims as wasn't a very long job. This year we are hoping parents will enter straight into Arbor app.- 8 replies

Can you get ones specific for your server? For example for a dell server there are these: https://www.etb-tech.com/dell-poweredge-t-series-caster-kit-t501m.html?currency=GBP&gclid=CjwKCAjw-e2EBhAhEiwAJI5jg22nk4sWkboO4jugbtnM4hyWDx7SLmoAf5k9P7Hdwq7uDi8jNCJJpBoCwjMQAvD_BwE

Not yet, I think there are more Arbor staff active on there than users. Noticed there were more and more schools on here moving to Arbor so thought I'd ask here first.

I'm guessing they didn't issue test certificates for the cable runs? Looks a lot like a job done by an electrician or general builder who does a bit of data cabling!
-
How long is the run? it could be a combination of all the factors, especially if it is a fairy long run. It shouldn't be jointed and it shouldn't be run with power cables like that, but you can normally get away with 1 or the order. If you can't borrow a proper cable tester, maybe remove the cable from the junction box and stick a socket on there temporarily, see if that fixes the problem, would also let you re-route the cable away from the power when you put it back.

Not sure if this is no one uses it, or no one else has actually managed to make it work!!
-
Is there anyone on here that uses Arbor for clubs booking, specifically care clubs? I would be very interested to chat to anyone that is managing to make this work for them.

I'd assumed that the screen is 5m from the pc running it, but the person would be sat in front of the large screen, so not 5m from the webcam!

I've just plugged the asus webcam I have into 1 of these https://www.startech.com/en-us/cables/usb2faaext15 and it's working perfectly.
-
Something like this https://www.ebuyer.com/654904-startech-com-5m-usb-2-0-active-extension-cable-m-f-usb2aaext5m although the one i have is entirely powered by the usb port. If i get time later i'll see if i have a spare and can plug my webcam into it.

An active usb extension cable should do it for most webcams, as long as it doesn't have loads of led's and a big current draw

Created a new deployment share, same issue with image. Imported windows 20h2 from iso and tried deploying that. Worked fine. This implies there is something wrong with the image I have, but I can manually deploy it from a usb boot disk using dism, which implies the image is ok? Rapidly heading towards building master image again from scratch, it's just a pain because of some of the software we have on it.

I tried changing the OS on an existing task sequence for the new one with the same error, also tried a new task sequence a few times after various upgrades etc. Same domain and username for both - task sequence prompts for it. Even after the error I can manually map a network drive at the command prompt to the deployment share using the same user account. I even temporarily changed permissions on the deployment share to full control for everyone. I'm going to try creating a new deployment share this morning and see if that does anything. I appreciate all the suggestions from everyone.
-
I will check that in the task sequence, but the error i'm getting doesn't refer the the uefi issue at all.
-
Good to know it can work at least! Was this an upgrade from an earlier version or fresh install? - - - Updated - - - Sadly a different error to the one I am experiencing, hotfix didnt change anything either.
-
Thanks, sadly tried that one and still not working - machines I've been testing it on have been UEFI as well.

We found it a nightmare when they forced us to migrate to the new system. We didn't want to use Wonde as were told we cannot pick our own username format and they don't yet sync with AD. Manually doing it we would have to ensure that all our usernames are unique across all their schools not just our own and was told by support there was no way to upload passwords via csv. I have made 1 pupil user account and they all share the same one! Not ideal, but essentially how it used to work, we don't assign work or anything and wont use it for that until they sort it. Speaking to the support team they are getting loads of complaints about it every day.
