Hi all, This is my first post on Edugeek, so please forgive me if I’ve posted this in the wrong section! I work in a secondary special needs school in the UK, and we’ve been using Education City to support teaching and learning in English, Maths, and Science. Although our students are secondary-aged, many are working within the KS1 and KS2 curriculum due to their individual needs. Education City has been a great all-round solution for us - its cartoon-style visuals and accessible content really suit our learners, and it’s also been valuable for setting homework across the three core disciplines. We do use a number of other platforms, but none of them cover all three subjects in one place as effectively as Education City has. With the platform being retired in August, we’re now looking for a suitable replacement. We’re hoping to find a platform that: Is cloud-based and GDPR compliant Allows us to set and manage homework in English, Maths, and Science Is visually engaging and accessible to students with a range of SEND profiles Covers KS1 and KS2 level content Aligns with the UK National Curriculum Is easy for staff to use and integrate into everyday classroom practice If you’re in a similar setting, or have used any platforms that meet these needs, I’d be really grateful for any recommendations - or warnings on what to avoid! Thanks in advance.

We currently delivery the KS1 and KS2 computing curriculum through the use of Espresso Coding, supplemented with a couple of lessons from Barefoot Computing that cover specific topics that need to be taught in KS2 (computer networking being one of them). We have also used a couple of other coding apps such as code.org and Hopscotch. This is all going fine, and the kids are flying with it (it's all a bit too easy for them to be honest!), but I am worried that there has been no evidencing of the work done by pupils. All of the coding stuff is obviously online, and there is no hard physical evidence of their work. Espresso Coding allows you to save, as does Hopscotch - but it's all a bit of a mess and isn't easy to access all in one place (eg. a whole class' coding work for a particular unit). We use Classroom Monitor to track pupil's progress for other subjects, but this is not currently being done for Computing. So, basically there is no evidence of any work being done or assessed in Computing - and this can't be good for an OFSTED inpection. I'm the Network Manager - but I've been trying to take a bit of a lead with implementing the new curriculum, which wasn't being taught at all just over a year ago before I started. Does anyone know how Computing is being evidenced or tracked in their Primary schools? If anyone would like to chat further about this (I appreciate it's quite a complex post!), PM me and I'd be only too happy to have a chinwag.

Hi all, we've been using 2Simple's 2Animate for basic animation projects in Year 2 and 3. It does the job but I'm looking for something similar which is based online so that I can use it on our Chromebooks. Year 2 usually do animations of Tudor houses burning down to tie in with their Great Fire of London topic. I've had a look but what I've found so far is a bit too complicated for the little'uns! Any suggestions? Thanks very much in advance!
