Thanks all, good to know I can do exactly what I want and sounds like it will all work reliably.

I am looking to change my home broadband to fiber only, so will no longer have a landline. We currently have a cordless phone which my parents use in the annex and we can use to call between handsets. They would like to continue to use this and be able to make external calls. Has anyone migrated their home phone to voip? I was thinking of getting something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Gateway-Internet-Telephone-Linksys-UK/dp/B07RY79RJY and using it with an sip provider initially to connect the current analogue phone. Later I would look at putting 3cx or similar in, then use this adapter to connect the current phone to that and add a few more ip phones that I have. Is this likely to work? Anyone done it at home?

With a basic iPad at £230 now it's hard to find an alternative that isn't making a lot of compromises.

It does go on to say that if you have backups you should be able to provide data stored within them, so in this instance if there is a backup of the mailbox that can be accessed then emails should be provided from this.

We have a whole school email account which we used as a shared calendar. This was setup many years ago and is a user mailbox with calendar permissions assigned so anyone can add to it. We have now started using resource mailboxes for all our meetings rooms which works well, except if someone creates something in the calendar of the whole school account and then adds a meeting room, the meeting room is then booked in the name of whole school so we don't kwno who it is. What we would now like to do is for everyone to create their own meetings in their calendar and invite whole school as an attendee if it is something that affects the whole school, so meetings are booked in their name and it is still added to the whole school calendar. I need to make the whole school mailbox auto accept any meeting request or cancellation it receives, regardless of if it conflicts with another meeting. Is this possible on what is a user mailbox? I can find instructions on how to do it in the desktop version of Outlook, but this seems to only process this when outlook is running.

I now have to ring up and log a job with them. They pass it to remote toner team who can't do anything, so pass it to service manager. They then authroise an engineer to come to site with a toner and fit it for us. I've had 1 done like this so far, 2 other printers out of action waiting for a visit and 1 about to run out. Not exactly quick or efficient.

We've just signed up to safesmart for all of our premises compliance checks, this supports signing of policies.

How is the projector mounted? Could you use something like the unico guardbox? I've used them in sports halls before. Still not that cheap though.

With 2 drives failed double check all your backups are ok before rebuilding.

Our after school club currently have an Xbox 360 which they want to upgrade to a newer xbox. The current xbox has no internet connection and works fine off discs. Ideally I don't want any new xbox to have an internet connection - it would be tricky to do through our filtering anyway and opens up too many safeguarding issues. If they get a newer Xbox, are they going to actually be able to use it always off-line? I haven't used a modern console but imagine they rely considerably more on an online account now?

We go double to desk for most desks. Cost difference between a double and single is not huge. Occasionally go more for specific circumstances, for example our admin team have a poe gate intercom phone, normal phone and pc on their desk.

Can anyone recommended a good headset and mic for pupil use for dictation into an ipad? The onboard mic works fine when they are alone, but we need something that is a bit more reliable in a classroom setting.

I ideally wanted discrete graphics for our whiteboard computers, smart notebook in 4k struggles a little, but it is just about working with integrated and as others have said, getting any reasonably priced graphics card at the moment is almost impossible.

Located in East Sussex, we are refurbishing our library which currently has the attached office pod in it. Will need a good sized van to collect. Will be scrapped in a couple of weeks but would like to see it go somewhere it can be used if possible.

Has anyone else had reports of iplayer not working this week? It's been intermittent, with some stuck buffering and some just not loading on various computers across the site. We use an onsite smoothwall, but I haven't changed anything. Not sure if the bbc have changed any urls they use, or if there have been general problems with it?

They will still have the exact same date on the bottle, it will just be preceded by Best Before rather than Use by. Other than the publicity the change is getting, I don't think many people will notice or pay attention to the wording and will carry on exactly as they were before.

It's not a thermal issue is it? What are the temperatures like when running the benchmark? Is it throttling too soon?

I've not come across Chest before, are they just a centralised way of buying licencing for schools? Is there a minimum size / number of staff to buy though this?

I'm assuming you can push apps etc using Intune, It is the classroom app / setup that it doesn't support, not Apple School Manager for apps etc as far as I can see?

That article is titled how to set it up, and then has a pink box first thing in the article to say it doesn't support it.... Very clear!

That's interesting, I know in the past it was lacking in features for managing iPads, have you found anything that it cannot do that you can in other MDM solutions? Is this licenced based on FTE staff as per other products, so more cost effective as our ipad estate grows? Thanks
