  1. How do they see the different teams they are in from within onedrive? I've got onedrive setup on my pc at the moment and within that shortcuts to a couple of teams I'm in, so I can browse the files in explorer, would they have to add these shortcuts themselves? Also can I check, if they open a file going the explorer route does this lock the file and stop multiple people editing it? Seems to happen on mine, but not sure if this is by design or if something has gone wrong, I have 365 desktop apps installed and signed in.
  2. That's one way I was considering doing it, probably predominantly accessing it all through teams, but I'm wondering if it will work slightly better by having say a KS1, KS2, EYFS and Whole school team? Or does this just make it more complicated. Would like to try and get it right first time!
  3. Just wondering how anyone who has migrated all their data to 365 has structured it, and what do you primarily use for access SharePoint / teams etc? We currently use windows servers / file shares and 365 for email. All staff are familiar with Teams thanks to Covid, and we do share some files on a couple of teams when multiple editors are needed, or where access from ipads is needed easily for example our site team work from ipads. Current clients devices are a 50/50 mix of ipads and windows devices. Ipads will likely slowly dwindle in favour of Chromebooks once testing is complete. Current structure is a big staff drive with folders for each keystage, and then sub divided into year groups, then classes. (That makes it sound a lot better than it is, it's a big mess and will be sorted before migration) We then have an office drive for admin, and SLT have their own secure folder. Pupils have a shared public drive with sub folders for each class and then pupil.
  4. https://www.tnmoc.org/ is the obvious one that comes to mind, but probably too far to travel from where you are
  5. Can't be much help other than to say we have had about 15 of the E70's and although 1 or 2 have had a single hdmi port go bad, we really haven't had any issues with them. Only being a HD display they also haven't ever been overly fussy about the hdmi cable either, the new 4k ones we've been putting in object a lot to cheap hdmi cables. Have you tried another computer with the boards, and a standard monitor with the AIO's to rule out either being at fault?
  6. It sort of makes sense - 100 meg only uses pins 1,2,3 and 6. Gigabit uses all 8. I'd have thought connecting a 100 meg switch would force the faster one down to 100 and it would work, but evidently not.
  7. Is the port on the cisco switch set to auto sensing? Might have been manually set to gig at some point.
  8. Just had a look at ours and we have the same settings (account is the full email address) and it is working fine - just tried a test email.
  9. We have just changed over to A3 licencing so I need to deploy desktop versions of 365 apps in multi user mode, and remove the existing office 2016. First stumbling block, on the configuration website, do I select Apps for Business or Apps for Enterprise? I'm assuming the Education A3 is the same as Apps for Business?
  10. What are you planning to do with them? I don't think they'd even perform very well as thin clients now!
  11. It works with the Paxton cards but the numbers it reads from the cards are different, so you will have to get everyone to enrol themselves using their Paxton card (a pretty painless process) Apparently this is the same if you use Paxton cards for papercut.

    Old cheap PC's

Where abouts are you? May have 3 or 4 Dell AIO devices currently in storage that will be going spare.

    Old cheap PC's

    How many are you after?
  14. I've been quoted roughly double that!
  15. I've had 2 companies quote for hive and 1 for MF, for 8 devices it came to more than the full cost of the copiers. Hive was a fair bit more than MF, but MF was still expensive.
  16. Has anyone else found papercut to be really expensive? Just getting quotes in for copiers now and papercut works out more expensive than all the copiers do.
  17. Thanks. Don't think there are any legal ways I can claim the vat back :-)
  18. Looking to get a new laptop for my dad. Mainly uses it for office type tasks, sketchup, web browsing and some light gaming - minecraft and maybe a few other older games. Max budget is £600. At the moment I'm looking at this https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/hp-victus-15-fb0002na-amd-ryzen-5-8gb-512gb-rx-3050-144hz-fhd-15.6inch-wind-6p0w4ea/version.asp It looks to be the best value, I just need to confirm it can take another 8gb memory stick in the future, as this may be the only thing that lets it down. Any other suggestions within budget?
  19. Can I check what everyone does for licences for Governors? We've been advised that any member of staff / volunteer that would need access to 365 would need a licence, could get very expensive!

    Arbor App

I think they have updated it recently to support biometric login. https://support.arbor-education.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020147458-Getting-started-Log-into-the-Parent-Portal-and-the-Arbor-App#logging-in-on-the-arbor-app-0-7

    New server

Looks to be the right sort of ball-park, I've brought from serversource before, they carry a mix of new and warrantied second hand kit https://www.serversource.co.uk/collections/dell-servers/products/dell-emc-poweredge-r450-1u-rack-server-2-5-8-l
  22. I'm not sure there are any poe powered switches that then provide poe on their ports. You could try getting one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Splitter-Compliant-Surveillance-5-5x2-1mm-PS5712TG/dp/B08HS4NT13/ref=asc_df_B08HS4NT13/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=499339562285&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4613809386267003262&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045117&hvtargid=pla-1185659679296&th=1 and using it to power a mini poe switch, as long as the current draw of the switch, phone and AP are not higher than the main poe switch can deliver. Not sure it's the best idea! Ok, turns out you can get them, see above!

    Sky Stream

Does anyone use sky stream? If so how have you found it? Are you now able to have separate profiles on there for different users and do these sync across multiple boxes?
  24. Paxton units do beep when they are pinged.
  25. It def sounds like it is being pinged. Do you have a spare poe switch you can plug it into to power it up but off the network? It should remember its config and still work, this will let you know if it is just the unit itself beeping or if there is something on the network pinging it. If it stops, then put it back on the network and as others have said, mirror the port on the switch and run wireshark at the right time to see what is sending the ping.
