Hi all Really stuck with this and have been going round in circles for a few weeks between our County web host / Google Apps people / Enom people. We currently have our old school website hosted by our county council at Orchard Junior School - Home. I want Orchard Junior School - Home to redirect to OrchardJunior where our new site is currently hosted. The new site is a "google sites" website and I have mapped it to OrchardJunior which is provided by the host Enom, which was setup when we installed google apps. Now whenever county redirect the old address to the new one all I seem to get are errors. The message I recieved from the people at the county council was this. What we have done is create a CNAME (i.e. alias) record in our DNS for Orchard Junior School - Home which points to orchard.com. If somebody enters the ..hants.. URL in their browser, then the hants DNS passes the request to the DNS which is authoritative for orchard.com, and that should return the ip address of the server which is hosting the new website. However, that server has to be configured to understand that if it receives a request for Orchard Junior School - Home then it should return the same frontpage as it would for OrchardJunior. Every time previously that I have configured an alias for a school website, this has been resolved as a single ip address, and the hosting company have configured their system to recognise that a request for the old URL is mapped to the new website. However, in your case orchard.com appears to resolve to 5 different ip addresses. I don't know how these are selected in response to a website request, but it may be that there is a round robin system, which is why sometimes you get a "404" message, and other times you get the HPSN2 screen showing the blocked Enom address. I will try to determine why we get the "blocked" message, but maybe you can pass this note to Enom support and ask them to confirm that the correct addresses are being returned when we do an "NSLOOKUP" for the old URL name. The output from this is shown below. Maybe they can confirm whether or not their system needs some further configuration in order to respond correctly to Orchard Junior School - Home. After contacting both Enom and google they each seem to suggest it is the other where the problem lies. Now I don't profess to be a web expert but I figure this cant be that complicated and I am sure somewhere here knows what settings and where need to be changed. Any help would be massively appreciated

Ideally want everything hidden away.I had originally thought you meant an all-in-one machine. Hadn't realised they were so cheap though to be honest. Maybe worth considering as was planning on adding ram + ssd to these units anyway. Cheers

Hi All Wondering if anyone has done anything like this at school. I am looking to install a very thin floating desk that has the motherboards hidden inside. Then wall mount the monitors so that the only items on the desk are keyboard and mice. The idea is to have more of a "station" so that children come and use the computers, then leave the area when finished as opposed to hanging around. My main concern is installing the motherboards inside the desk. My main questions are: Any danger in mounting motherboards inside a wooden box? Any down sides to a standing desk? Here are some examples of the kind of thing I am after PIC 1 PIC2 Cheers. Any input greatly received as this is just an idea at the moment.

Have been asked to find out if this is possible? HT wants A popup with some basic rules for pupils every time the internet is opened. Any ideas how to implement this? Positives/Negatives of doing it? I have my own opinions on it but will keep them to myself for the time being. Cheers

Whilst I understand why companies do it...and don't personally see the point of the inquiry unless they are willing to change the tax laws, I dont think you can excuse something "just because it is legal". If tomorrow murder was made legal for the day, it wouldn't make it O.K to finish off the lady in Tesco who is taking too long at the self service check out. The same applies to tax avoidance in my opinion. Its scummy and if everyone did it our Country would be in much more of a mess than it is..FACT

Thanks for the help. I have gone a slightly different route though and modified a script I found on the net. You can just add it into an embedded region on xibo. I have an excel spreadsheet that will convert usernames birthdays into the correct format so they can just be copied into the script. One thing to note is that names cant have symbols in them as it throws an error. I am sure this script could be tidied up but I am no script master, and it works so have left it at that.

Hi All Been scouring the forums but cant find any obvious threads. I know some people have built school websites with blogger but cant seem to find any examples. Also I know wordpress and joomla are much better CMS but because we have a google domain it is very easy for us to set it up through blogger. Any examples of websites made through blogger would be very much appreciated, or links to threads which I cant find. Cheers all
