*looks* - ah yes, so it is. Still, if you don't have patience you can nip in and pick one up at Tesco! (I'll mosey on away now...)

Tesco have a pretty good deal on them at the moment, 111 for the wifi version or 152 for the 3g/wifi.

Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition: Upgrade or new installation?

Hmm.. that is a puzzling one. I'd be very interested in your findings, I'll try an L300 to an XP SP3 desktop later on.

Thanks Jenny, I've popped an email through.

Hi Jenny, Very good of you to pop on here and provide help. I'd like to ask, here in Northamptonshire my mother has recently moved to Vodafone (previously a long serving and loyal o2 customer like the rest of the family....) and in the 3 weeks she's had it it's on several occasions decided it was "limited (ie, emergency only)" service for an hour or so at a time with no real clue as to why. Is there any kind of known issue that could cause that or should I back out and put her back on o2 with my tail between my legs for recommending giving voda a go? Happy to discuss in private if this will help. Grateful for your time. Kim

Understandable, I also imagine that is not a server users log into directly (ie, it's not a TS/RDS) so having the host PC and sharing that for low cost multi user access makes sense.
-
That's exactly what I did.
-
That's fine (again speaking in L300 terms) because the 2008R2 box was a remote desktop server which was joined to a domain and I was using domain accounts.
-
In my testing with the L300 + 2008R2 Host PC yes it works fine.
-
I've been using some NComputing L300's recently and had some good success with them, but this was to a 2008R2 server so slightly different application to yours. As far as setting it up, you install the vSpace software on the host PC and (in the case of the L300 anyway) you just point it to this host PC and off it goes. In the case of my testing it's completely fine using domain accounts but I've not tried it on XP (but can do if you want). Cheers, Kim

Remote desktop services - folder redirection - large profile
kmount replied to pooley's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
I'd look at renaming his profile on the remote end and logging him on with no profile just to definitely confirm something in the profile is upsetting it as opposed a misfiring log on script or w/e. -

How big's his local profile once he gets logged in? (ie, is it pulling down 10gig of data or not). -
Good Luck mattx, I am sure you will be great.
