Hi speckytecky, Firstly, I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, I suspect the domain expired and a company 'bought' the domain and is now holding you ransom over it. Not much you can do really. So, I'd look to start with a fresh identity working with a company who isn't stupid and who will look after your interests both technically and non-technically. Nip over to CSNewMedia - Domains and type in an idea for your domain name (site name) eg. speckytechysclub.co.uk and find one that suits your needs and is available. (should only cost a few quid a year for this). Then you need some webhosting, again CSNewMedia - Hosting probably the lite package will be plenty sufficient for your needs for now. Once that's all done you can go ahead and install Joomla and start building your presence again. There are other webhosts available, a plenty, some more expensive, some less expensive but having had great experiences like other edugeek members, CSNM is my preference. It's getting the IP from somewhere, what is your DHCP configuration looking like? Wouldn't worry about your Terminal Server at this point, it's not got as far as that yet.

We've gone one further than just sending kit, having designed a fully functioning (templated) client-server system (AD/etc) so that any school/community centre has a common server / client environment using open source software (and some mainstream under licensing) GPO deployed all that good stuff so adding new computers, users, etc is very straight forward. The remote support arrangement at the moment for the pilot deployment is a 3g dongle connected to a server and a few seconds lag Just as well it's documented and doesn't need much doing to it. Ultimately the local 'PTA' who are incredibly passionate about their children's learning (as opposed to the Gov wasting money) want to be in a position to look after the systems in place. (Gets his coat from derailing the thread!)

Reasons we see often for not moving away from IE6 is down to compatibility with applications/sites that are business critical. ThinApp (and probably Camayo) are making ways around this more possible which is nice.

Troubleshoot it like you would any other box. Look at the resource utilisation and see whether it is the iexplore process for 1 user or whether it's shared out. Pay close attention to processes that occupy figures such as 25% on a quad core box etc as they could be looping. Has this always been the case or just recently, what's changed if just recently. What else is happening on the virtual environment, could it be busy and you're seeing a by-effect?

Ok, how many vCPU are allocated on the other VMs that are working? We need to work out whether this is hitting a scheduler problem or simply out of resources. 2 cores (or in this case vCPU) isn't an awful lot when you consider 30 kids on there we'd normally spec twice that for that number on a 32bit OS.

Virtualised TS is a fun experience when it comes to load. How many vCPU have you allocated out and how much RAM (check in windows if necessary)? You may find it better to create several smaller TS with 1vCPU and spread the load this way as it is heavily documented that virtual TS do not scale anywhere like physical boxes so lots of small are often necessary.
