  1. Sadly a compatible otherwise I would have the projector in a box on the way back to the manufactuer by now. The warranty on the projector had run out so we didn't purchase an OEM.
  2. Hi All I thought you might want to be made aware of an issue I have had with a bulb from the above company. The bulb in the projector had 411 hours on it. The projector was workign fine, then rather suddenly (over 15-20 minutes) projector went dark, so it was became barely readable. We replaced the bulb in the projector with a new one and the image is now bright however, the colour wheel appears to have gone, as there is now specs on the image. Below are two pictures of the bulb that has failed, it is almost like there is a plastic cover on it that has delaminated and bits have flaked off. Personally I suspect that these bits have then been sucked into the projector and damaged the colour wheel but I can't prove it, it is merely a coincidence. The response from LampsDirect is along the lines of unelss you can prove that the lamp caused the wheel to be damaged then we aren't interested, they aren't even interested in replacing the bulb. However, will happily let me let them service the projector and pay for a new colour wheel from them. Which I won't be doing. Has anyone else seen a lamp do this?
  3. You need a DA2 cable from Innovative Technology. Check the model on the reader first needs to be USB0009 or something
  4. This has been spoken about before, someone mentioned it ages ago. The company are based in Oldham Manchester and will even do the upgrade for you for about £20. We used the cable but our reader won't work properly, so we are payign them to update it instead of Cunninghams. As for if it invalidates our support contract? Who knows there support is pathetic at the best of times and they just replace bits of the reval if its broken anyway. The coin readers in the devices are NOT from Innovative Technology, we have already asked. However, we are currently invesitgating the manufactuer of the coin readers and have every intention to contact them and ask a similar question about updating them, i'll let you know if I have any luck.
  5. Personally I would avoid Multi-Point, I mean it's ok, it works fairly reliably. However, our Multi-Point rooms were the most hated and booked/ used only after every other classroom wasn't available. We have replaced these first, over thin clients and old computers.
  6. That's not TransPennine thats the normal First Northern!
  7. Go First Class on a plane and you get 3 or 4 choices of meal normally. Warmed up proper plates, choices of wine and everything. Can't compare economy plane to First Class train and that say train is better Even on Transpennine Express First Class you get some freebies, but only usually a brew or two and muffins or crisps etc. Still you get a seat which is the biggest problem on TransPennine.
  8. Now I may be a dinosaur with this, but I don't see the point in the devices. Though my heating is 2 years old, all new radiators and a wireless thermostat that we have moved to balance everything fine. Most people get up and go to work, and get home at the same time 5 days a week. You know when your home and when you will need the heating on. Never once have I thought, oh I wish I could turn my heating on from my phone, nor have I cared that much to be desperately wanting the heating to turn off as I leave my house. Maybe I live in a house that keeps its heat really well (it is insulated everywhere) and we don't suffer like our old house where once the heating is off the house cools down very quickly, I kind of understand it then. But for me the only time I don't want the heating on at a normal time is when i'm on holiday and then I just use the thermostat.
  9. We have 14 Microsoft Wireless Display Adapters. We have had niggle issues with some rooms, others have been perfect. Without to much investigation it was fairly easy to establish that if the classroom you are in has anything other then a very strong wifi signal then you will have problems. I think it is simply to do with the way that the WiFi cards are working, having to basically flick between sending data to the wifi network and the miracast dongle, often on different channels. Cheaper wireless cards probably aren't capable if the wireless network is to weak because it seems to "drain power" so to speak from the miracast side of things. The solution seems to be to put a wifi point in the classrooms effected or obviously go back to cables. We have staff who will use a cable for a video and then wireless for a powerpoint, because that is the most reliable method. I have others who will only use a cable and then others that only use the miracast (though usually they have a wifi point in their room). It is all rather buggy and I wonder if the more expensive Surface Pro 4 may have better cards in or if they all have that marvell card. We had less problems with a i5 over an i3.
  10. It just worked for us, no issues.
  11. It works with Office 2016, we have tested it. However, for the sake of there being any issues or any questions being asked about the actual test result we rolled back one room to Office 2013. We didn't want there to be any chance of suspicion of the results
  12. Spoken to Account Managers, Support Managers, Normal Support staff.
  13. Is your laptop touch screen? Or does it have the ability to be. If so there might be a setting in BIOS, we have had a VeryPC machien that shows screen 1 and 2 on the normal monitor. Though it was an Intel chipset doing it, basically the board could support touchscreen but we didn't have it, there was a setting in Bios that turned the touchscreen layer off or something similar and got rid of the problem.
  14. They have almost certainly changed something at their end and are denying it. I don't actually know what we can do because we seem to be such a small proportion of schools and they either don't actually care or aren't interested in helping. I suggest you "kick off" with your account manager and get the complaints escalated.
  15. We are still having problems with it, i'm getting to the opinion that is more trouble then it is worth now. We still ahve students not being assigned homework depsite beign in classes, loads of classes without teachers. The list goes on and I think their support has jsut given up trying to solve the problems now.
  16. I have a couple of year 7s that seem to have two parents for some reason, one is blank and thus two pins. We also ahve Year 7s who have two accounts and others that aren't assigned to any classes. It's ridiculous.
  17. I would mass reset all the passwords, then get your head to email staff sayign what has happened and highlight the importance of passwords. Staff use awfully guessable passwords all the time ePortal has poor restrictions on what they are allowed. The only way you might find out is through IIS logs.
  18. @gaz350b We are in the same boat as you, CMIS tell you that is the best way of doing it. We did it like that last year, this year SMHW aren't capable of using the data. They will tell you no other schools have the same problem despite them havign atleast 80 of them using the system and clearly it isn't true. Think yourself lucky that you have 1 teacher assigned, we have class/ teaching groups with identical names but the same teacher attached twice (for example Science, then Physics, Biology, Chemistry) and SMHW doesn't assign any teachers at all! We also have shared groups that have no teachers assigned not the "last" teacher. Unique groups that they also can't/ won't assign a teacher to but yet can't tell me why it won't work and jsut keep avoiding the issue. You also have to manaully remove leavers... for data retention reasons apparently... Ridiculous it starts to make a mockery of the Data Protection Act because we have personal data on an online system for no valid reason in my opinion, a homework record is not good enough.
  19. @timbo343 yes thats the setup we have. Make sure you are on your subdomain link though when attempting to use it or it defintiely won't work (I don't think they tell you this very clearly)
  20. Our LDAP is still working fine, they give you 3 IPs for the firewall, if they have update them then noone told us. We have had major issues with Year 7s not syncing then they did sync but you could only print letters individually if you did the "Year 7" letters you got last years year 7s, so effectively year 8s. We now have another issue, which probably existed when we trialled it last term but noone noticed which is causing us problems instead, although thsi time it might not fully be Show My Homeworks fault (though given it took me 5 days to even get told the problem I am rather sceptical).
  21. Can you ping the SAN on the iSCSI IPs? SUually they reply on them if you are on a host with a NIC that is on the same subnet etc.
  22. When you ping it does it go to the internal address or the external one? Proxy excpetions are all well and good but if the IP is an external one then it would then be outside coming in always and ignore windows auth.
  23. We have a DPM server completely offsite at our ISPs datacentre. It's our server so so it backs up everything, keeps DCs for 7 days, Databases for 30 days and home drives for 30 days. Have DC dumps put onto it as well because of DPM needing AD. Onsite we have a split SAN, with hosts in each location but the buidling at linked so i theory a fire (or more likely the water from the hoses) could hit both parts hence offsite.
  24. Have you tried making it a proxy exception/ authenication exception, so that the actual filter is deifnitely not getting in the way? If so then it has to be with the firewal I would think.
  25. Install KMS (used AD version if you want) enter your Office 2016 KMS key and then your Windows 10 KMS key and your done. They should activate older versions as well
