Hello everyone, Yet another Smoothwall question from me. Since installing the Smoothwall appliance we are no longer able to access any remote FTP Sites such as ftp.dell.com. I get a "Kerberos/NTLM authentication failed" page displayed. What do I need to do to allow access to remote FTP Sites? Many thanks in advance.

Hello, I recently bought a BlackArmor NAS 110 so that I could remotely store my things and access them where ever I want with an FTP client... I set it up so that anyone could access it, both the CP and FTP worked, how ever, when you try to login to the FTP it would accept the connection and login successfully... but then it would time out on the directory listing and disconnect. FTP Client: FileZilla Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Hi All We have a MERU wifi network. Our controller died and Fortinet have given us a new one. In order to get it working we have to downgrade the firmware so it will work on our APs The procedure to downgrade is simple on paper. Boot into linux recovery. Connect to an FTP server with the file on it and the box does the rest. I've managed to get connected and authenticated to my own FTP server. Next step is to navigate to the file and do an mget. Problem is any command I give be it ls, dir or Mget causes the connection to time out. I'm connected via the network using cable. My PC and the MERU are on the same subnet and can talk to each other pingwise plus I've connected and authenticated. All the relevant firewall app and port rules that I am aware of are in place. I'm hoping this is straightforward - how can I stop the connection timing out when I run a basic command? TIA

Hi All, I'm having a problem with my Frontpage 2003 install on some machines. A number of my students are having problems opening FrontPage files. They have created the files previously and when returning to them are unable to open any files or documents. The work is saved in their user areas. An area message is displayed which says: "Unable to open Website. Possible causes: 1. The web server many not have FrontPage Server Extensions installed 2. The web server may be temporarily out of service. 3. If you are connecting through a proxy server, the proxy settings may be incorrect. 4. An error may have occurred in the web server 5. Opening a web using ftp:// is not allowed" This is strange because this is all being done locally and not being published to a host offsite or onsite. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Ive got a directory that ive ran the following commands on chown -hR jack:www zage chmod -R 775 zage This seems to change the directory security correctly, heres the output from ls -l drwxr-xr-x 3 jack www 4096 2008-01-11 00:02 zage But from my ftp server a user who is in the www cant create a folder or delete a folder already in the directory. The FTP server seems to be using the users details not just a standard account on the system. Oh yer its Ubuntu 7.10 Server Edition that im using Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this because im stumped Thanks Jack D

I don't think this has been covered (at least not in the threads I found). One of my schools has a (Y-Cam Black) IP cam mounted in a bird box, and anyone on the school network can see what's going on in there. With the Easter holidays coming up, I was hoping to make the feed available on the school's website but restrictions seem to make this impossible. (I can code the page, but it only works in "preview mode" in school). The camera can also automatically ftp still pictures at set intervals or based on motion, but the pictures are named according to the camera's own convention (YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS). I've gone for a picture every 5 minutes as motion detection seems to create a lot of pictures if the bird is fluttering around in the box. I can find lots of PHP scripts that will allow a basic gallery of "everything in /Birdbox/Images" but (guess what?) our website doesn't support PHP. Is there a way to do it in HTML? If not (and this sounds overly complex) is there some way to automatically rename images in a folder and then ftp them up to a folder on a set interval, overwriting existing files so that I could put up a fairly standard page? I looked at YAWCAM, but it wouldn't find the camera .
