Hi All, We are currently using Google as our default search provider, but I need to be able to enforce safe searching for the whole site. We are using Websense 6.3 and there is a search filtering option on there and it is enabled but it doesn't really do anything. Is there another setting that needs to be implemented. Thanks in advance. dbsocs

Hi All, I'm having a problem with my Frontpage 2003 install on some machines. A number of my students are having problems opening FrontPage files. They have created the files previously and when returning to them are unable to open any files or documents. The work is saved in their user areas. An area message is displayed which says: "Unable to open Website. Possible causes: 1. The web server many not have FrontPage Server Extensions installed 2. The web server may be temporarily out of service. 3. If you are connecting through a proxy server, the proxy settings may be incorrect. 4. An error may have occurred in the web server 5. Opening a web using ftp:// is not allowed" This is strange because this is all being done locally and not being published to a host offsite or onsite. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Hi All, I have a new science block being built soon and we are looking at the configurations of the new labs. Obviously IWB's feature in all rooms, but after being round some schools and from my own previous experience, does anyone know of a manufacturer/reseller/disti that can do the whiteboard control boxes (VGA, USB, audio output etc) into the dado trunking, like a data point or a wall socket. We're trying to go for the streamlined look here, so if anyone has any good suggestions or *pictures* for different types of IWB boxes it would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance.

Thanks very much for that, wasn't quite sure what to expect. I suppose I am going to be starting from scratch, as I'm not planning on using ZenWorks afterwards, perhaps get the vanilla system in and then look around for network management software. Thanks for your help.

have you tried running the rsop snap in on the client machine, I know the GPO results showed that it had applied, but obviously it hasn't. If you run that you can see exactly what is being applied to the machine.

OK mate, no worries, didn't wanna sound patronizing about checking that the new GPO is assigned to all machines, created under a stations OU? :)
-
Have you created a new GPO or added it to an existing one?

If you want to be really fancy (or just more fault tolerant) and you have enough drives you could do the following. Configure 2 drives in a RAID 1 (mirror) and use these for the o/s then configure the other drives in a RAID 5 config and have these for the data partition. This is what I do and I've found it works. Obvioulsy you have to make sure you've got enough disks as I like to have a hotspare as well on the RAID 5. :)

Same as Ric_, but also try running the RSOP snap-in on the machines that aren't working, at least then you'll be able to see what is being applied by GPO and then check the events to watch for errors.

Hi, I have worked as Fronter Trainer and know quite a few people who are using Serco Facility as their MIS system. Fronter now have better Facility setup notes from Fronter 82. I would suggest you give them a ring to see if you can get some information regarding the process involved. dbsocs
