We have the same errors on both SP2 and SP3.

You might want to join this thread - there could be a common theme here http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows/23997-explorer-crashing-since-sp3-install.html

Funny you should mention that! We have been experiencing random crashes. We think it is a critical or security update but identifying which one is a problem as there is no common factor or error messages other than the 'can't reference memory' one that appears on screen. It affects all our PCs but so far no laptops which leads us to a windows update problem as the laptops have not been connected to WSUS. It does not matter what the user is doing and is totally random. If we pin down the culprit, I'll post it here.

We work as a team here which includes working with other departments outside our own. We have a great relationship with site staff and quite often help move furniture and equipment when they are short of time or manpower. In return they help us move kit.

There is no solution - apeo (also works here) was in contact all over the summer to Smartboard and the UK Rep to get a fix, but despite promises they now say it isn't available yet. Which meant we had a day to revert back to the old version. Basically they created it on a Mac and forgot to do the conversion for PC use.
-
We uninstalled it and put the old one back on

Share iTunes Library from Windows 2003 Server
alan-d replied to crc-ict's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
I think XP will only let you have 10 connections. -
It's one of those things - 50-50 choice I literally flipped a coin and it came up tails which meant I didn't install it As I said - spoke to the HT and exams officer and we all agreed to try it without the update and if it didn't work then it just meant an hour or so delay putting it on. (assuming no backup restore was needed ). Not so easy to do it the other way around From what I gather most of the effects were for NVQ type results and those in Northern Ireland.

Share iTunes Library from Windows 2003 Server
alan-d replied to crc-ict's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
Probably typing before brain engages here but is it possible to run a virtual ubuntu server or PC on the 2003 server and run it from that? -
They lie!!!! We didn't upgrade and everything worked fine for us, and our SMT like their statistics, analysis etc.
-
Try logging into SIMs on the server itself and import from there. It worked for us
-
After speaking to the HT and Exams Officer, I chickened out applying the upgrade. The results imported without any problems other than one large file had to be imported by logging into SIMs at the Server. As far as Analysis goes the HT is happy that anyone wanting information in a different format from last year can wait

Yes you can but the built in reports are not that good. You could set them up as users with read access to the inventory and read/write access to the financial information such as value, depreciation etc. That way they can run there own reports and keep their bits and peices up to date themselves.

A lot of folks in these parts use GLPI GLPI - Gestionnaire libre de parc informatique with OCNS attached to it. Also has a helpdesk feature which we use within the IT dept.

We host our php sites internally but use the SINA web space to store resources that we link to such as videos, downloads and large documents.
