Problem with that method gatt, say your reloading a staff laptop for workgroup, how would you not make it join the domain?

ok it may not be it, but is all your drivers installed? I know with Toshiba laptops, there seems to be a driver for acpi a lot of the time... Now im gussing if thats not installed it may not show up

Ok guys, my boss has asked me to find some wireless projectors Last time we brought wireless projectors we had a lot of problems and still do New ones will replace older/broken projectors With our current wireless projectors you have to connect the laptop to the projector wirless and get the connection through the software. The real big pain in this is they lose their internet connection has their not connected to the school network anymore Whats the way around this, we dont want the same problem with the new ones plus if possible sort out the problem out with the older wireless porjectors if possible. (Ethernet cable connected to the laptop is a no go, would be pointness for a wireless projector then, has we still need to connect a cable)

Ok sorry for me being an idiot what extually is the applkication server role used for? Trying to decide what VMs to put it in, but really aint helping, has im not sure what it does for what using it. Was thinking of just putting it in a VM, profile & appdata doesnt matter anymore, tomorrow gonna attempt to change all the accounts to mantory profiles so thats quite a lot of space saving there (Not that were running out of space) should be easier on the hard drive, profiles will be a lot smaller than roaming profiles What was you thinking about storage mate? Right backup sever, has I said before I could not logon this, but have now got it working, so I right down tomorrow what roles it has and what software is installed I believe how backup server has scheduled tasks using robo copy to copy files onto the the backup files from the server, so for example if a students deletes their work we can just go onto the server and restore it without mucking around with tapes. It does more than the students work of course, does the all the hard drive on all the server I believe. All we use the Symantec Backup Exec 12.5. Thats gets a full backup everyweek and daily differential, using a tape loader Pretty sure thats how it works How would we go round backing up VMs? Ok I have uploaded a docx document what all our servers do (Havent done the admin severs, just doing the cirrucilm network first) Also left out our backup/cache server out has I cant seem to be able to logon it, so get get the roles and software it has installed on it. Hi Guys Had to make a new user today and transfer his old work to his new redirected folder. When I went into the folder that all the redirected documents are I found that there was quite a lot of folders called 'My Documents' not actual labled has the username name. What makes it even more weird, is that you cant normally have folders the same name. Any idea why this would be happing, could it be something logging into Windows 7

dont think the ip address pings anyway from our isp, we have an exchange witch I tried to ping eariler to see if that work work, but that one had no reply eithier, and that ip address works update - just had a talk with them and they put in the wrong internal ip address sorry to be a pain, can you explain step by step in what you just said to do also seem to be having problems getting LDAP working for user to logon, if anyone have done that before

Hi Guys Just had to setup a Moodle server I have installed it on Server 2008 (Processor is not x64, so could not install 2008R2:() To install moodle I used the Microsoft Web Platform Static IP address on the DHCP for the server How do I go by getting this to an external IP addresss? I have give the Council (ISP) the internal IP of the server and told them to open port 80 and the port number of MySQL (Not sure if thats need, but that one is there) Any ideas why its not working? Havent done no settings other than that Also how to I get around of chaning the link to Moodle at the momment for example I have to type in a link like this 10.147.100.54/moodle. confused why only 5 students accounts? Also you dont need to reimage the computers, use the same domain name, add the new server in, transfer the new roles etc then demote the old one.

Ok im redesigning my school website Currentlly there are no recent news on this site, has no one is able to post any news on to it So this is one of the major things I want to change with the redesign I know I could use joomla, but im not liking it that it is very hard to design it from scratch, so if was to use one of the edugeek templates and come later I want to chance it all about, I'll find this very hard to do. So i'll prefere to use html instead What best methods would you suggest of allowing staff to post news onto the website? I am currenlly trying to design the website in Serif webplus x4, it does have its own cms, so I can add boxes anywhere, logon to their site and add the news from there (Or any staff) But was also thinking of maybe useing twitter for the updates instead, has thats extremlly easy to use, and no one should complain of not knowing how to use it. They have a widget you can make, which I have done, doesnt look to bad but there is a very annoying problem.
