Corel Paint Shop Pro X problem with redirected folders
pritchardavid replied to CraigM's topic in Windows
Umm this is weird, we have this software Needs to be uninstalled now, ran out of licence time, what a pain that was to deploy too! Ours seems to work fine? How did you deploy the software? -
This is something our boss want to look out has well, we have setup a few IP panasonic cameras in about 5 rooms (Ict rooms) There not set to record yet they should be really, you can pick them all up the IP address to look at them Our boss was staying when our old non digital camera break, they are very expensive, and would prefere to replace the whole lot with IP cameras in time. Would would be the best method of doing this? On there on network, with having their own switches in certain areas or of the school they can connect to? Which will mean user fiber to connect the switches together which we dont know how to connect fiber up yet.

yep I know that What i was saying I was that that old policies I had were made from server 2003, so in the sysvol, where the policies are kept, they had the ADM files. When I made the new policys from 2008R2 there was no ADM files, so how does xp work without these files? Or was these ADM files was only there to be able read the policys when configuring it in group policy console? Or does now xp read the ADM from the windows folder on the client hard drive?
-
donest server 2008 r2 delete the ADM files? When I have been creating new policy's from my 2008r2 temp policy machine It does not create the adm files, but still somehow works on xp, how does it work? or does the xp manchines read the adm files that are stored in the windows folder?

There is only two good things I can think for going virtualised is that you can easily upgrade the server version, make and test new server services etc have spare running in case problems arise But if you have the ram and processor speed to be virtualised ie have 5 runing on the server, you should be able to run this normally (Not virtualised) just from the server, problery quicker has its just one server operating system running, just with having roles and whatever your using on the server on one OS server

Lol you actually want to work during your holiday? What Mario is it? The New Classic One? Just started to play that today, quite good! Better than I through it would be I cant do work IF I wanted, how Citrix sever seem to be down for some unknown reason

I read something ages ago that you only need the 8 pin if your using a more power hungry processor.... But like I said I still think that is the problem Guess my supervisor didn't look at the power supply connections that came with the case and the motherboard power connections, when he ordered the hardware Suppose I could order some converters (3 or 4) see if that work, if that works, order the amount I need to do it one all the computers What One you recommend? 2 Molex To One 8 Pin http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/pcloft_2079_81298396 Or One 4 pin To One 8 Pin http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/mypccase_2087_19479460

Yer my have to upgrade how RAM for the new exchange, don't think we have 4GB in it, think it only has two. Cant believe it needs more Might has well do it for all the servers, not sure what we have in most, guess the servers need more to go onto 2008R2 Yep we need to tidy the stock room has well, I keep it tidy, its everyone else that makes it messy (Aint that bad, but needs doing before it gets worse Backups are gonna be the problem with 2008R2, everyone on the forum have said that Backup Exec don't work on R2 (We have the latest version) If I set it up, would have chose the Microsoft Backup System (System Center Data Protection Manager 2007), I hate Symantec Umm not keen at all on this virtualised stuff, prefer it just running on just hardware

Anyone planning for the new term? Trying to create a list So it can done all this term or if need be carried on to the next term, may start doing this every term if this helps us. So far I have Finish Setting Up Windows 7 Deployment Setup an allowed list for software for staff & students in the policy Setup Man Profiles for staff & students (With policy’s applied already, so settings does not have to be reapplied every time they logon expect folder redirection) Setup the Library to have 32 Computers, Will be more reliable for Lexia & enables a whole class to use computers in the Library, Instead of only 18 (That’s if all are working at the time) Connect a Netbook to the plasma that does not get used, so it displays the same has the other two screens that’s display information Upgrade all Netbooks running on the screens to W7 so we can use remote desktop (Home Edition does not do this, which they currently run, so we can remotely refresh the screens or fix when they stop displaying) New School Website - Design & make it ourselves, so all done internally, Includes - Support ticket page/site to replace the paper job slips, which we don’t seem to get anymore (Shortcut Icon On Staff Laptops has well) - ICT Support page where we can have guides on how to do stuff, and technical steps before contacting the ICT Support - Each department has their own page with information and some pictures and maybe list of staff? - Gallery collection of picture i.e., Football, Awards Evening, Cooking, Inside Week, any events etc. Change VLE that uses An Internal Server, to be able to do more stuff and better support it. Best choices would be Moodle which is free. Or Frog, not free, but does look much better. Upgrade servers to 2008 R2 from 2003 R2 Update Impero server to new version when we get it in Jan & deploy the newer MSI to clients Update Sophos Server to newer version Upgrade Exchange Server to 2010 from 2007 Deploy Windows 7 to Rooms & Teacher laptops Any Other Ideas? I Know You Don't Know Our Network/School You Just May Have Good Ideas

We had certain computers that were freezing, we replaced these in the end. These computer were not old at all. There are 32 (An ICT Suite worth) Don't know what ones were freezing, think it kept happening on random computers (Not sure at all, cant remember has this must be about over a year ago I think) Think I found one the other day that was freezing, was trying to test Koha Library Software On Linux to replace the crappy Alice Software we have, but it kept freezing. After we replaced the computer, me and my supervisor thought we had found the problem, there was a very old switch we installed ago at the end of the room to supply about 3 or 4 extra Ethernet ports to the room for the computers and wire router, we changed this to hub just in case. Has this was not the problem what could be? We also changed the Hard drives in everyone, when we were trying to fix the computer before we brought new ones. We thought it may be that because the hard drive were from the old ICT Suite computers. Was not my idea to use the old ones, was my supervisors, I wouldn't have done that. So has you can tell we made these computers Think the specs were, 512MB Ram Pentium D and a foxconn Mobo with a 945G Chipset Could this be the problem? The motherboard had an 8pin connection connection power socket, which is used for extra power to the the processor right? How power supplys only has a 4pin connection, so only 4 pins were only connected into this socket. Could that have been the problem? If not work else could it be? Would like to use these computers to replace older computers in the library Library computers are not Areo compatible and are only P4 CPUS, will be upgrading to Windows 7 Janurary around the school, putting these computer into the library means we dont have to payout for another room of compters, only ram upgrades Already need to replace three rooms of computer to be able to upgrade to windows 7 which means 96 Computer, so dont really want to add another 20 more onto that

Or instead of the above post download the version you need from a torrent Don't use the serial code if it come with one that's not legal of course Nothing wrong with downloading a ISO image where you own the product

Please help me connect my win 7 laptop wirelessly
pritchardavid replied to secretlife's topic in Windows 7
Aint routers internal addresses through? or is that different on ADSL? I know that using a router is just internal addresses internal address would be something like 192.168.0.2 Outside would be something like 212.134.564.32 So that shouldn't be limiting it, has your just using one Or is this a limit with the firmware or router that orange use? -
Yer using Google DNS has well, defo seems quicker than the default virgin media DNS servers

Nope, does not work for me either

ok never mind managed to sort it by changing from true to false on the following part just in case anyone has the same problem true true change both 'true' to 'false' Don't know if you have to change both, but I in case and it worked So finally my sysprep in finally fully working Has anyone got sysprep file working that allows you to type in the computer name, then it adds it to the domain after? I heard a lot of people have to change their computer name after? I have a powershell script to add it onto the domain when it logs on (Batch in the start up menu) Just wondered if anyone got it working from the actual unattended file with writing in the computer name, has this would be better of course
-
ok have cheked the windows 7 unattended file now, seems to work expect one problem now I need it so it will bring up the computer name part, so I am able to enter in the correct computer name instead of the random one that windows gives it Any one know how to edit the file for this?
