Dont think it will take that long to setup We havent got that many programes on the network anymore Been doing some maintance, got rid of all the software that dont get used any more, we havent havent got that much anymore gladly Question if I enable this, will I also have to put on the allowed list stuff like .doc, docx, swf, etc so they can run those questions? best way, which im gonna setup soon, is to enable the allowed program list, which means anything on this list, they will not be able to run it So you will need to make a list of all the allowed programes on that, and it will stop them, installing & running programes you dont want them to use

ok that did not work eithier must be something wrong with the sysprep file any other ideas, other than that guys? If anyone has a sysprep handy, could they email it to me at davep @ live . com so I can look at it or maybe edit it for our settings

ok reinstall yet again try the username has ockendonadmin instead of the ockendon school That way there is nno difference in our files, there should be no problems

nope it is in system32\sysprep so im finding that weird Unless sysprep moves or copy the files to there when it start the sysprep process

well its working now used the generalize command, changed no settings what so ever, and it worked! So its some of the settings I was doing was causing problems Things I was doing Customize Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player Settings Disable System restore Change user temp folder locataion Disable system failure, startup time, in systme properties Enable remote desktop connection Disabled sync Copied user icon and desktop picture to main root of c drive and appied these for the user Disabled some uneeded serivces (net framework, windows search, http web proxy, media player service, ssdp discovery, shell hardware dedection, windows defender, security centre And also copied the account user account I was cutomizing and has the default profile

Guys we are in need of new computers for a few ict rooms Problem with that is that not many places sell full atx desktop cases anymore, mostly micro atx Problem with is all our computers have two brackets on each with are screwed into our worktop and the computers are screwed onto the brackets has the cases has screw holes like this http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t107/dd123pp/Brackets.png Anyone know any companies that deal with brackets? We have no other spaces for the computers to go, so we need to use the brackets The brackets may just hold a micro atx case, but none of these micro atx cases has screw holes to screw them onto the bracket (Plus they problery will not have lined up with our old holes on the brackets) So this will be a no no, has the student will knock them with there leg and will most likily fall of the brackets Any one know some company or have an idea?

Some staff laptops have 4GB so may has well install 64bit allround the network, expect for the computers that dont have 64bit cpu Right lets test this, I bet it works this time

ahh sorry thought that was a command to add it to the domain ok thanks again How would I make the 64 bit versions of this? Just change the x86 to x64 in the sysprep file

you say it generates a random name when adding it to the domain, is this the same case has workgroup? Also what would happen if I was to wipe the computer name link in attended file? ok that completely didnt work Made the image Restarted and it started to go through sysprep Came up with an error to do with windows shell setup Pressed ok and it restarted, now keeps saying it cant keep, restart the install Wished I saved the image to the server Any idea how to join the computer to the domain in the syprep file? yer I know where to delete the Group Policy Objects in GPMC I can delete the links for both default policys but cant actually delete the objects under group policy object, doesnt not let me, I can delete any other object if I wanted (This is where you mean davep)
