Nope we are having problems, didn't know about it before... Ok not brothered about xp anymore, were going totally windows 7 when the rest if our new computers arrive this week or next. All I have done now, install all the student software in our windows 7 image. When I done the image, I put the computer on the domain and logged in has a student with no policies enabled. Then I ran all the software i installed, also ran Internet explorer and wmp to do the setup and setup the background.. Last three things seems not to work through. After that I used windows enabler and made it copied the profile to c:\profiles and the set the correct security permissions on the folder and the set all the domain user to that path for their profile... Correct me anyone if I have done this right, this would be great

apprenty what ever the case the trial time will run out even if you activated it, you need the proper iso. Think this one should work Microsoft responds to Windows 7 student upgrade SNAFU with direct ISO download But no good if your planning to use enterprise of course, because there is no link for that expect the volume licening site (wont go into other methods where you can get it)

Were have some if you don't mind, we could put some use to them

try to download the lesson tool kit from the site instead, may work that way not sure

Sometimes a BIOS update is a good idea, has I had a WDS problem today, has it wouldn't respond to the ftp server on it. After I done the BIOS update, it worked fine!

Ok im creatingour new school website in Serif Webplus X4, cant seem to find anything in that that will do what I would like. Ok guys can you help me out here, im trying to change our network from network Mandatory Profile & Redirected StartMenu & Desktop to Local Mandatory Profile, StartMenu & Desktop. This is for windows 7, we should be using xp for much, until our new computers get here. so not worried about xp at the momment To tell you what I have done Step 1- Copied the network mantory profile to the root of the C drive. And gave the folder correct permssions (Read writes for everyone and read and write for the admins) Step 2- Copied the shortcuts from the startmenu and desktops for that perticular room from the server that normally gets redirected (loopback) into the desktop and startmenu folder that is in the profile. Step 3- Created A new OU with this computer I tested, so it didnt have any loopback policys enabled. Problems Profile loads fine, but I could delete desktop shorcuts and delete them from the recyle bin. I did look at the new profile it created/copied form the man profile, and did notice it had had full rights for the folder, so it doesnt gets it right from the man profile, how do you change this? Or am I gonna have to redirect the desktop it a local desktop folder? Startmenu still has the Accessories folder, which in that has the Internet Explorer No addons shortcut, also it had one or two more shortcuts that shouldnt be there. The user I test with the man profiles, created its own new profile, like it should, but when the user loged out, it didnt delete the profile, has it should, because we have delete profiles of at logoff in the group policy Another question - Do I need to make a local copy of application data for users? We havent got this redirected or anything at the momment

Try on one disabling everything in the bios I had this problem with a whole classroom before, in the end I found out that it was the audio controller, has I keep enableing things back until I got the problem again. Of course it was ok to turn back on the audio controller once it was installed

Look at show point, best thing I can thunk of, all you is update the powerpoint file that is in the shared folder and it will update whats on the screen

umm, not sure why that box comes up, didnt actually do that locally on my computer, only when I put it on a web server

It doesnt get destroyed, just deletes the changes I believe

With our mandatory profiles we dont we direct application data, which means it uses the local application data on the computer.. We have the serif suite too, only recentlly changed this over from roaming and it seems to be working with that (I believe)

What server do you host your printers on now? server 2003 r2? Cause starting from 2003R2 (non r2 version doesnt have this feature) there is a easy way to add printers during startup or logon, on vista and windows 7
