Hi all, Could some one point me in the direction of sourcing a basic intranet page.. theres lots of information we would like to get across to staff and pupils and im thinking this would be the best idea. If anyone could share theirs that would be great. I wod start building my own but i dont have the skills or time to. We have a moodle install which we could use for it (which has been offline for a year due to lack of use) but im thinking that is a bit overkill for what i need.

Ok im redesigning my school website Currentlly there are no recent news on this site, has no one is able to post any news on to it So this is one of the major things I want to change with the redesign I know I could use joomla, but im not liking it that it is very hard to design it from scratch, so if was to use one of the edugeek templates and come later I want to chance it all about, I'll find this very hard to do. So i'll prefere to use html instead What best methods would you suggest of allowing staff to post news onto the website? I am currenlly trying to design the website in Serif webplus x4, it does have its own cms, so I can add boxes anywhere, logon to their site and add the news from there (Or any staff) But was also thinking of maybe useing twitter for the updates instead, has thats extremlly easy to use, and no one should complain of not knowing how to use it. They have a widget you can make, which I have done, doesnt look to bad but there is a very annoying problem. My username for twitter is ockendon school, and the name is The Ockendon School, both of these show on the widget on the site, is it somehow possable to just have the ockendon school on there or a title saying news Thats the html code they have given me new TWTR.Widget({ version: 2, type: 'profile', rpp: 6, interval: 6000, width: 250, height: 300, theme: { shell: { background: '#000000', color: '#ffffff' }, tweets: { background: '#000000', color: '#ffffff', links: '#4aed05' } }, features: { scrollbar: false, loop: false, live: false, hashtags: false, timestamp: true, avatars: false, behavior: 'all' } }).render().setUser('OckendonSchool').start(); Unless anyone can think of a better idea? would be good, need to get this finished in 4 weeks i believe

Hey guys Weird problem with websites. Our students are creating a site with embedded flash videos, when they preview them prior to uploading to our webserver the videos do not play. As soon as the site is uploaded they play fine. I guess its something to do with the file URL when they open the page (e.g. file://///shared/Drive_R/Dreamweaver%20Training/Sample%20Website/about.html). It used to work with a previous version of Flash player, and its only since installing the latest version it has stopped working. Has anyone come across this before?

Web development is not my strong point, basic HTML and Joomla is about my limit. Can anybody in the know shed light on the post Flash era. I believe HTML5 allows you to have video and other media without pluggins so no need for flash player so long as its a HTML5 browser. But what file format do you use for the flash replacement for video?

Hi Trying to get a hyperlink from our intranet hosted in IIS to open a document on one of our shared drives. Used to work last year when we were on Server 2003 but now we are on server 2012 and IIS8 it doesn't want to work. This is the code we use: Intranet If you're not redirected within a couple of seconds: Click Here Anyone got this working where you could post your code so i can see if there are any differences? Doesn't work in IE or Chrome.

Morning all. I'm supporting a new in house website hosted on a Windows 2012 server running a very basic html5 setup on IIS (no SQL or clever asp pages etc). At present lots of pages are being updated and staff are having issues with pages remaining in cache and not updating to end users quickly enough. I've disabled file caching in IIS for several file extensions (at least I think I have) but could someone please advise what the latest/correct standard is for not having a page cache in a browser. Thanks Andrew

EduOnTheWeb is a work in progress project I have just made in the last hour or so. It's a one-page school website. Pretty simple and only takes around 15 minutes to setup. Presuming that you already have a web server setup. I have craeted a guide on how to install and maintain the website. Install process Download the zip file from below. It contains the website and it's files. Extract the files FTP and locate yourself into the public folder of your web server. Copy the extracted files to the folder. Next, go along to CushyCMS and register for an account as a designer. Once registered, create a site and enter the FTP Details into it so you can update yourself. You can create a separate FTP account for Cushy if you want. (optional) Choose the index.html page on the public folder to use within Cushy. Now you can create users for whoever needs access to edit the school website. Start Editing! Maintenance To change the header image, go into the assets/images folder and replace the school.png file with your picture with the name of school.png Please let me know if I helped anyone. I would appreciate if you gave me comments on what I should add. EduOnTheWebv1.zip

My first edugeek forum question, so apologies if it is naive! I work with schools and one has a sports website produced by an external company. The pages were triggering filters, the content you saw was fine, but when I looked at the HTML I found a chunk of code on all pages - mostly in the middle - here's a short extract.... href="http://www.mundoblack.com.br/Sporanox-blog.html">Sporanoxdecoy octopusdenver housing authority jobsDiscount AlfacipLipvasblack tight virgin pussy the urls varied page to page, if navigated to lots led to a site called blogorama & http://www.machinemove.co.uk/blog Cnn.com live / Wordpress Obviously the school is asking their web company for an explanation, but I'm impatient. I have my theories, but I'd love to hear your ideas. Thanks

It is about the joomla site for school but more HTML than joomla itself On the ICT page, the ICT teacher has created a flash file that i have put on. The only HTML change i have done is VALUE=transparent. On firefox its showing as: http://www.rosebridge.wigan.sch.uk/images/firefox.bmp But when displayed on I.E. its showing as a black box and the menu is going behind it as so: http://www.rosebridge.wigan.sch.uk/images/ie.bmp Thanks

In another marketing shocker, Microsoft are offering $10,000 in a competition open only to users of IE8: http://madduck.net/blog/img/2009.06.17:MSIE8_10000.png http://madduck.net/blog/img/2009.06.17:MSIE8_10000.png "It's a cleverly concealed web page that only IE8 can view." Yep, way to go on the "we want to interop more" stakes...

I am trying to keep my basic outline the same from page to page. I come across a problem when a one page has more content on it and it require a vertical scroll, versus a page that all content fit on the screen. Look at these 2 pages and notice how on #1 the outline is wider and the link; 'Research Services, Company Profile, etc" move slightly to the right. I would like to keep these inline with #2 so that they dont move when going from page to page and I cant seem to figure it out. 1) Shamrock Structures, LLC -- -AssesEXPRESS : Protein Gallery 2) Shamrock Structures, LLC -- About Shamrock Structures

Is there a very simple way to redirect http://mail.domain.com to https://mail.domain.com in IIS? Thanks Chris Edit - this is for OWA btw.

Me again! I've used an accordion menu jscript thing to show important notices on a page, which lays it out in an . thing is i want two, side by side, but every time i try using float:left things get mixed up. i've included the whole bit that displays one menu and the css, but what i want is two individually controlled menus </pre><ul class="acc" id="acc"> Important Notices (click here to show/hide) </ul><br><script type="text/javascript" src="js/script.js"></script><br><script type="text/javascript"><br /> var parentAccordion=new TINY.accordion.slider("parentAccordion");<br /> parentAccordion.init("acc","h3",0,0);<br /> <br /> </s and the css that accompanies it #acc { width:457px; list-style:none; color:#033 margin:0 auto 40px } #acc h3 { width:443px; border:1px solid #6f9387 padding:6px 6px 8px; font-weight:bold; margin-top:5px; cursor:pointer; background:url(images/header.jpg) } #acc h3:hover { background:url(images/header_over.jpg) } #acc .acc-section { overflow:hidden; background:#fff } #acc .acc-content { width:425px; padding:15px; border:1px solid #9ac1c9 border-top:none; background:#fff } is it possible to have them both on the same line, but centred (so the two will not align from the left but from the centre yet the text in them is still normally aligned? as an addition, i have a footer.php (and footer in css) that keeps rising up if i use float:left on the menus. but they seem to be fixed by using clear:both in css for the footer, is that the correct method?
