  1. This has also been raised as an issue in one of our schools (possibly where the parents are the most vocal). I agree that downtime is important and needs to happen, but i think we received the notification of the planned downtime around 4pm that later that evening at 8pm the sites will be put into maintenance mode so we couldn't really proactively inform parents and students of the planned downtime. As has also been pointed out above - even something obvious on the app to say the site is down for maintenance would be better than an error to say you can't logon at this time and then everybody attempting to reset passwords etc.
  2. Whilst we are on - the ability to see which students are logging onto the Student App too 🤞
  3. We've been asking for the ability to hide / remove the standard username / password options for at least 2 - 3 years. Not sure why they insist on leaving it in place and at least not giving the schools to opt-out if they wish.
  4. 3.0.0 here too.
  5. Predominantly Windows 11 but we do have some Chromebooks in the mix.
  6. There's a number of considerations to take into account: Printing Net2 / Door Access InTune and policy locking down Do you have a list on what software would need rolling out? How will you setup DNS / DHCP (if required) Do you have any access to a DC / elsewhere to host shared services or could you host in Azure etc Have you migrated all user data to the cloud already into Onedrive / Teams / Sharepoint etc. Making any of the above changes, may result in a training need for both staff and students so that will need to be taken into account - to be honest, migrating to the cloud is the easy bit - it's the follow up / training and ongoing tickets that a random font or bit of software hasn't been pushed out will create the most work !
  7. We jumped in the summer and we don't appear to have the issues that many of you are facing, but we've come across a few including features that we were told would be available for September that haven't. I've been in contact with their support team on a daily basis, but more so around things having changed and found in a different location rather than fundamental issues, although there's been a couple such as editing the existing policies I Setup as the rest of the team are unable to edit (add additional staff into the notification groups) coming back as not having the required permissions - this has been logged as a bug and they were able to replicate it.
  8. We've used fleetmobile previously who didn't cause us any issues, but we've recently moving or in the process of moving to a LA purely down to price.
  9. I am not sure which MIS you use, but I understand Arbor is bringing the Teams integration into their apps too (Certainly the student app) and it may well be that this includes the Parent app too for visibility. I don't know the timelines, but I am sure it's on their roadmap.
  10. I know SAR's are a massive pain, but surprised there's companies out there that can do the redaction - our external DPO would be pulling their hair out approving that DPIA !
  11. We had it in about 40+ of our generic school office emails but it was sent straight to junk by MS.
  12. We also received the same request. DPO advice was to ignore several of the questions asked especially around contracts / sensitive data etc.
  13. It's been a long time since I used CDM so I might be missing something but is it not just a case that the user needs to choose 'Add shortcut to OneDrive' in either Teams or Sharepoint? I know it's automated but it will save a few quid. I
  14. I thought it must have been part of the digital standards but i've just taken a quick look and it doesn't appear to be the case. I don't really have anything to reference too, other than the x amount of money in the contract to spend on ICT - if you'll be wanting Interactive Screens then they'll need to be 75" minimum. So in theory, if we had fairly new Interactive Screens that were only a couple of years old in our old building that were 65" they wouldn't want us to move them over, but if they were 75" and only two years old then we would be expected to decant and move.
  15. We have a new build taking place at the minute and the DfE requirements are for a minimum of 75" interactive displays in the classrooms but certainly not Ofsted.
  16. It's not based on the Ofsted rating for this round - I don't know any more information then that.
  17. If you are part of a trust, you could in theory proceed and offer your existing hardware to another school. If you are a standalone entity, as part of the initial audit of existing equipment the DfE may turn around and say as your kit is relatively new, you no longer qualify.
  18. We find it ok. Would I rely on SENSO being my only filtering product - probably not, but to be honest I don't see filtering as their main priority and would always use a provider that filtering is their bread and butter. Does it allow us to monitor based on key words and report on that yes, does it allow us to remote manage devices within the classroom yes.
  19. I've removed access to the following for our Primary kids - haven't carried out the excercise for our secondary schools yet. Would be interested to hearing what else should ideally be blocked - many of which I have still enabled I don't exactly know what purpose they have: - Exchange Online (Plan 2) - Microsoft Bookings - Microsoft Kaizala Pro - Microsoft Planner - Microsoft StaffHub - Power Apps for Office 365 - Project for Office (Plan E3) - School Data Sync (Plan 2) - Skype for Business Online (Plan 2) - Yammer for Education Some things I have left, but even though not really primary school friendly, I don't think would cause us any major issues if they were being used i.e. To-Do, Whiteboard etc.
  20. We used to add the staff (never student) photos, but we found a lot ending up on social media photoshopped onto other random bodies ! With the recent additional tools within AI - that probably would cause more issues now then previously. We just go with School Logo's now.
  21. £25M doesn't sound a lot in the grand scheme of things. We had 15 schools qualify in our trust (1 secondary and 14 primaries) and our grand total was over £500k. I would much prefer if the funding would be awarded at Trust level rather than identified schools and that the trust (audited of course) could choose which schools best to utilise the funds - for example, a couple of the primaries that were identified to be eligible for the funding for us only had new WiFi installed 6 months previous.
  22. We get a lot of our technical training for the team via Tablet Academy - can highly recommend.
  23. 48 school trust - 5 secondaries and 43 primaries 16000 students 2800 Staff 6500 devices 17 IT staff with various roles
  24. We've often tried to put something together, but as Facebook and the likes change their settings so often it was often out of date by the time it was published so we gave up ! I
  25. A number of our staff don't like it but i've either grown to get to use to it, or anything I need is available and i've not missed anything it doesn't do
