Hi all, I'm keen to hear people's experiences using Assignments in Microsoft Teams for homework. What do you like and dislike? I think it's included in our E3 licences but have you found any hidden costs/necessary upgrades? We have a working group of 2 primary and 2 secondary schools so keen to hear any feedback. Thanks in advance!

Hello Are there any iPad/Teams users out there who are experiencing an issue with Teams Assignments in the app? We're finding that any attachments can't be opened, and you get a generic 'Sorry, something went wrong' message. Similarly, students can't upload attachments to assignments either Can't just be us, can it?

For the majority of the time the behaviour in Teams seems to be that the display name attribute is used? We use lastname first initial for the display name, for example Bloggs J. For some reason Teams has switched it's behaviour in Assignments, it now displays the staff members full name when posting assignments? Anyone else encountered this, do you know which AD attribute Teams is using in this instance? Annoying, as staff don't want their first names shown the students and there seems no logical/simple way to prevent it?

Hi guys, we have had Office365 and Teams etc... setup here for some years now. We are a large high school and use Frog alongside Teams for homework and remote learning. We want to drop Frog and use Teams for marking and homework assignments. I'm not a teacher and I don't know much about Teams as far as teaching and learning. I have approached many companies and even local schools but have drawn a blank. Does anyone know of a good consultant, maybe ex teacher who can train and inspire the school on the use of Teams and Office365/sharepoint in general? There's plenty of schools shouting about Google, but nobody will talk to us about Teams! Thanks!

Hello, the head of computing has reported that assignments is not working as it was last week. I suspect that a Teams update is causing this issue, but I just wondered if anyone else has heard about this Teams assignment issue yet? Here is what the member of staff reported. Just come to mark some work this morning and the feature of “return for revision” doesn’t work properly this morning. Previously when you return a piece of work for revision it appears back in the list of work that students still need to do and in the “To return” list for staff marking it. But today “Needs revision” is now appearing in the “returned” list and as complete even though it says “needs revision”. It is showing with a tick to say it is completed. This means that it no longer appears in the list of work still to do so I cant see it in my list of active assignments – it thinks they are complete even though there is work still to do. Last week it didn’t do this – the work shows up as being needed to return. The "needs revision" work should not be in this section and should not be marked as complete (the tick). This means that even though an assignment has work outstanding – it no longer appears in my list and I have to go looking for it (remembering if there is work still to mark) rather than it appear in the list of assignments. This is showing as all complete and is no longer in my list – but there are lots of students who need to redo their work so it shouldn’t be complete They should show up in the assigned list with the bar under it showing that some are still to complete – but they don’t now do this. You used to know you were waiting for work as it appeared in the assignments “assigned” list – it now doesn’t so you don’t know if there is work you are waiting for.

Good morning All, A lot of our Teachers are getting students handing in no work or blank works. I have tested this and students indeed can just press hand-in without doing anything. This makes it look like they have completed it so they can show their parents! Obviously when the Teachers goes to mark it there is either absolutely nothing been uploaded, a blank documents or the resource template they provided with nothing been added. If I can ask you to vote for the feature I have requested Microsoft may look into this. Please see link below. Obviously the more votes it gets the more likely they will look at it. If you can share it with colleagues from other schools that would be great! https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/40468951-assignments-hand-in-no-work-or-blank-work I'm hoping this will go viral as I can see a lot of schools being in the same position. With trying to collate huge amounts of data on which students are not doing work. Then chasing via phone calls home etc.
