Outlook Web Access can be integrated into Entourage. A lot of the functionality of Outlook is removed from Entourage, using the HTTP mail system; some of the missing features would be available, HTTP would seem a good way to implement the system. The user would be able to receive their emails wherever they were, via the web interface on a Windows system, and still be able to view the emails that they have already received.

Why not create a web server that uses a CMS, all the teachers have to do is add to the database the information they wish to cascade. Try e017, it's free, but you need to setup a lamp/wamp server to run it. I'm currently testing it in W2K3 server and Fedora / Apache.

I would think that you're pushing it, but mostly because of the RAM, but by the sounds of things you're not pushing the network traffic yet. I'd keep an eye on processor useage too.

I agree with R-O-B, once the kids know their being watched, and can't do anything about it, the transgressions fall off. I'va had a few problems with the Securus Server, but I've always found the after sales support is excellent.

Windows can create .msi's for you. it's not pretty, but it works. You create an machine image, do a snapshot. Install the software, then do another snapshot. The difference between the two is the .msi file
