Huum... £90 for a 2 minute job, you spent all day on the computer and got... a bottle of wine Seems like a poor deal to me, I'd have asked for a bottle of 18year old single malt!

NinjaBeaver, There is no such thing as a free lunch you know... the reason that Sky can offer free broadband, is because it's rubbish! For some people, the internet is about browsing web pages, I'm sure all of us here realise that the internet is so much more. All the sky package is good for is browsing web pages, which takes less internet traffic than some of the more exotic applications!

This is only marketing bluff, for the people who say "I'll get Vista when the first service pack comes out"

I'm just doing my degree at the moment, then onto GTP as well. I was under the impression that to get QTS under the GTP you had to work in a number of school, and I won't be training in my current school... Unless you know differently?

Cumbria County Council job evaluation
StewartKnight replied to StewartKnight's topic in General Chat
I accept that I'm on a quite good wage, but not compared to teachers! Part of my role is to go to our partner school in South Africa every year... I bet there aren't a lot of NM's do that! -
CCC have provided schools with a list of who should get paid what, in relation to their job description. The head has told me that I'm getting overpaid, seriously overpaid. As yet though, he hasn't given me the document to prove / disprove it. He's assured me that a pay cut isn't on the cards, but upping my resposibility is (don't know how, I'm the only technician here!). Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this document?

You cannot access the SAM file whilst the server is running. If you boot into DOS you can perform all manner of wonders!!!

From some of the posts on here, I was wondering how everyone dressed at work. Seems quite a few of you are in jeans and T-Shirts. I wear a suit to work, just seems the right thing to do! The teachers also come in well dressed. At my last school the teachers were a right bunch of scruffy urchins, but I still came in a suit. However my technician wore the same every day, white t-shirt, blue jeans (I assumed he had a number of white t-shirts!) Does the way the teachers dress reflect the way we turn up to work?

I'm the only technician in my school, and I get the school holidays off, hence, my pay is circa £25k pro rata. The school is a small (500 pupils) rural school, we have about 150 workstations!
