I've always been disgusted at the excesses of Dubai et al. All that oil money, and nothing put back into society. No investments in renumables or trying to reduce carbon footprints. Just excessive spending on pointless "islands" buildings and general excess! The amount of money that could have been used to help less fortunate people in their own country, as well as around the world. When the oil dries up and all the money has gone, they'll be the 1st in line, cap in hand, for help from the world community!

if you have to ask the question "can we do this?" then you might struggle. It means messing around with LDAP to get it to work properly. I've seen the wiki on hiding icon on a per user basis. It's straight forward, but the thing with linux is, it's a steep learning curve, especially if you're a newbie!

I disagree with you there, whats the point of a ballot if people aren't prepared to go along with the result (like the Irish 'no' vote the other week!) As a member of a union, you have the protection that the union gives you. If the union said everyone had to strike because Jona has been unfairly sacked, you'd hope that your union collegues would support you. Otherwise the union wouldn't have to ballot, they just say whoever want to go on strike, please do so (ok, I know the law doesn't allow that, but you get the idea)

I have done it, it can be done! It was a long time ago, and I remember at the time a small problem, but I googled it and was soon up and running. I have a book on php and it had a section on installing php on iis, I'll dig it out at lunch and let you know!

I have the wrox book, and I don't like it there is a good free book from microsoft called "Microsoft Visual C# 2005 Express Edition - Build a Program Now" also, for uni I have Deitel - C# How to Program (VBL) but it's not for the faint hearted, expensive but totally authoritive!

you can alter settings, as in Group Policy in Active Directory by typing gpedit.msc from the run command
