I'm taking my motorbike test on Monday, just the A2, nothing too big just yet! Has anyone taken their test, especially A2, recently? I've not had any lessons, aside from the CBT 6 months ago, so riding tips and test tips greatly appreciated!

Is this possible - membership?
StewartKnight replied to Diffie's topic in EduGeek Joomla 1.5 Package
Edu-it is correct Si, it's a simple .htaccess file. Create a folder. Add the .htaccess and .htpasswd file and you've protected the folder. add any file you want protected to the folder, and you'll need a username and password to access it. This may help. then again, it may not!- 11 replies

you can always create a folder that is protected and link to it from the Joomla template. Thats what I've done at the school I worked at Link.- 11 replies

Hi, I need to host a moodle instance for 3 months. Just for me and maybe a couple of others to use. My hosting company (one) don't support moodle. Does anyone have some spare capacity or a forward facing server with mySQL and .php? I don't need access to the server necessarily, just a moodle that no one else is using so that we can manipulate it at will! Thanks! P.S. It has to be free as well!!!!

of course he's an Apple lover, he's a thesp! Style over substance! Having said that...... I'd have an iPhone, if Simons daughter wants to sell me hers in 3 months!

If I waqs going to apend that sort of money, I'd get an iPhone! (Sorry Simon, and Simons Daughter)

I would get, and advertise as such, that your staff are CRB checked as well.

I know what you mean, but windows in the old days (dos 5, windows 3.1 etc) was the same. Playing with memmaker, IRQ's etc... those were the days, it used to take days for anything to work, and there was no internet to help. I'd say Linux is a more powerful OS than Windows server, but with great power comes great responsibility (ok hassle!!) If you want a Linus system that just works, like (allegedly) some Microsoft OS's, get a mac. I hate macs, but it is a simple Linux OS!

I'm in Cumbria (still CLEO) and using Joomla, although getting a password for mySQL for another school isn't proving too easy, as CLEO (Cumbria) are trying to push their own CMS package

The cost of living is average. The average salary is about £15,000, so this is considered a good wage. It's not my job, but I'm helping out at the moment, as they are without a tech, and the extra money whilst I doing my teacher training is a bonus! I have recommended that they make the post full time. If you apply and are interviewed, you might like to explore that possibility! In the years that I've lived here, I have NEVER see a parrot in the wild!

This is a job in Cumbria, nice school, pleasent kids, and they need someone good who can hit the ground running! Skills in Censornet an additional bonus!

I'd recommend (I assume you're not using) Volume Shadow Copy. It's free, as it's included in Micro&oft Server 2003 (and others) and allows you to recover the document from a previous day / week. -

Got to say, I profoundly disagree with Tony Benn on this issue, but I like the way he wouldn't take NO for an answer! -

I'm currently doing a degree in Secondary Educatio ICT with QTS to become a teacher........ I know.............. Boo Hiss!!!! Anyway, we've done a module on Networking. I was told that the module is more about knowing enough so that the tech can't pull the wool over ICT teachers eyes.... Anyway, I'm feeling smug because I've got 93% I think the marking was a bit harsh! I knew I was good! Just feeling really pleased and wanting to shout it to the world!!!!!
