ubuntu sucks! Try something that allows you more freedom, such as Fedora. The new knoppix looks beautiful as well!
  3. I want to video what I do on some software and incorperate it into a DVD using Adobe CS. Is there any FREE software to record the desktop in a CS friendly format?
  4. Most of the people here are spouting the lies that the MPAA etc want you to think is true, but isn't. Allow me to explain. Downloading is NOT illegal. 'Cracking' the drm on a music track or film, or whatever is Copyright Infringement. This again is not "illegal" in the sense that most people understand the concept. Uploading something you do not own the rights too is also covered under the Copyright Infringement. Downloading files is NOT illegal, despite the pressure groups disseminating the lie that it is. However, illegal it may not be, you have to make a personal decision on the morallity of it. I like to download TV series from America that are not available in the UK yet. Such as House and Chuck. Is that immoral? Is anyone losing money from my downloading it? I'd say no, others may disagree. However downloading music is depriving people (very rich people non-the-less) of money.
  5. ***BUMP*** ok.... How much choke do you ER5 owners use to start it from cold? Before I flatten the blummin battery!!!
  6. ah............. our fun loving american cousins!
  7. and on a similar note..... can anyone recommend a good blue tooth headset, preferably CHEAP!
  8. I seem to be turning the General Chat forum into a biker wave!! OK..... Getting my new (well......used!) ER500-C1 on Wednesday (2001 model) Anyone ridden one before? What are they like?
  9. Cute..... according to the wife. I'm not too sure what one of the mods would say though!
  10. I couldn't find anything that stated the salary though....... Wonder why that is!
  11. Worked for me.... GO UTAH!!!
  12. As some of you are aware, I have passed my motorbike test. so the Pioneer Nevada has to go! It's got the bullet proof Honda CG125 engine on board. I've flea'bayed the old girl! It's 6 months old with 3000km (less than 2000 miles) No MOT for 2 and a half years and 6 months tax. I've just had it serviced and new chain. Flea-bay £800, edugeek £750 Thanks!!! http://i550.photobucket.com/albums/ii431/nehushta/DSC00166.jpg
  13. I was reading the Telegraph newspaper earlier and they had a "100 films to watch before you die", which I thought was a cliche.... How about "100 films you'd die before you'd watch"! My number 1 would probably be (and I haven't seen it) Battlefield Earth, where you have to be a Zetan level 8 to understand it, and a cretin level 100 to watch it. Other than that, I'd include "The Cook the Thief His Wife & Her Lover". A film where Helen Miren gets her kit off.. oh how unusual. It's not big and it's not clever.... now stop it! In fact any Pete Greenaway film would be on my list. What others would you tear your eyes out to avoid?
  14. Get a load of this job!!! I think there may be a typo.... but who knows with the "credit crunch" and all!
  15. I have mine on a Samsung LE32R....somethingorother. Looks superb, and with the 5.1 system it rocks!
  16. I think that once the price drops, the microsoft interactive desk thingy looks like an interesting prospect.
  17. Does it REALLY meet the 33bhp limit??? Plus, how many times has it NOT been sunnyside up?
  18. Yes it is
  19. You HAVE to take a bike theory test now, and if you don't get your full licence within 2 years, you have to take it again!
  20. I passed with only 2 minor errors!!!
  21. The new Knoppix distro is a work of beauty. Graphic effects that micro$haft would kill for!
  22. Too right! How can Apple suddenly spec a imac from £745 to £995, in a recession, just like that! The spec for a better Micro$haft computer would be half that!
  23. It's not at all heavy, I'm a 8stone weakling... well, I was, now I'm an 11 stone weakling, but you get the idea. I can pick it up, not that I'VE dropped it, which is a long and not really interesting story!
  24. This is my bike. Brand new it cost just over £1000, and yes, it's chinese. It's cheaply built but keep tightning the bolts and it's well worth the money. http://i550.photobucket.com/albums/ii431/nehushta/DSC00166.jpg
  25. The new test hasn't started yet, so I'm still doing the old style test. The A2 allows me to ride upto a 33bhp for 2 years, then unrestricted after that.
