  4. No... didn't it take down the EduGeek servers at one point though? 78 pages - 1165 posts... Is mark still about?
  5. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/behind-red-door/18360-scientology.html ? Is that what you want? 'cos that's what'll happen...
  6. No 'Thanks!' here... added rep
  7. Sorry to hijack a bit but have you actually got problems with ePortal? We were told that it just wasn't tested on IE8 - the tech team haven't actually heard of anything that doesn't work properly...
  8. Not long until Cat7... Cat6 is an aging tech!
  9. We took out all of those after isolating a network-wide problem to a single Netgear 4 port switch flooding with bad packets... took bloody ages to find the thing!
  10. Consider how you'll upgrade later. We have a set we're now looking at upgrading and PSUs/heatsinks and a tricky install of the new boards are all problems. Unless you pay iDesk to do this...
  11. Not only have Apple removed this video from YouTube but this video couldn't be played on the iPad! Apple hates Flash.
  12. New Casio LED projectors look amazing. Cheaper over the life and quiet, no problems powering down and fast to start. That's the future everyone!
  13. Bump with fingers VERY crossed.
  14. I heard they're moving over to a Moodle framework. What? I don't think any company would ever do anything like that... LOL!
  15. I did notice that/ We have it - staff don't like it and I don't think enough resources are on there to have even received feedback from students...
  16. Just learnt of the sad closure of MST Software... Can anyone have a quick look and see if they have an install file for the 'Hardware Management System' - stupidly I didn't save a copy and need to restore a backup... Many thanks!
  17. I personally donated here- no chance getting the school to pay for 'free' software
  18. I'm 24 and definately a B! My girlfriend is a definate A and we're at completely different ends of the spectrum. She tries to wake me up in the morning and I try to wake her up in the evening! I genuinely think that I would have performed better at school if I'd had the chance to timeshift my day by 2 hours! It isn't laziness - I'm probably awake for longer than most people... I just always feel out-of-sync, exactly as described in the programme.
  19. Fingers crossed - I've checked that as I thought I already had it setup like that and it isn't... Another thought is that when it he logs onto the local machine it's unable to authenticate on the wireless network - perhaps I'll ask him to restart the machine between logins to give the computer a chance to pickup the network again...
  20. Had problems trying to fix (and search for a fix) on this one. One member of staff is using Outlook 2003 and it works fine from a .pst file stored in their network My Documents. A few times now it's started up as if Outlook has never been run and the member of staff has noticed a pattern between their activity and when this happens. They had no problem logging on this morning and working. They then logged off and logged on to a local account on the computer. When they logged back on as a network user Outlook had forgotten them! Any ideas how to fix this?
  21. ZP FTW! w00t.
  22. National Secular Society - How Alpha is brainwashing kids in our schools "The latest edition of Alpha News, the propaganda magazine of the Alpha Course, has a couple of disturbing articles describing how Alpha, with its fundamentalist brand of Christianity, is being infiltrated into schools."
  23. All around our school are posters for a Faith and Football ( Faith and Football is a Portsmouth based project which gives children in poorer areas the chance to play football ) launch party. This is connected to the ALPHA.org course. Personally I think this is potentially confusing for young people and leads me to ask questions like why are they not just running a sports group without the religious content? Why are there potentially huge philospohical questions on these posters like 'Is this all there is?' phrased in almost a rhetoric manner? Would other faiths or groups be given such a large amount of space to advertise in our school? I find the colourful fun-looking posters almost creepy...
  24. VLC will play video with the wrong extension...
